Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You state a position—“I firmly agree”—and begin to explain why English can be useful beyond travel, referring to schools, colleges, and civil-service examinations. These are relevant points, but the response only minimally addresses the full task: it does not explain the view that language learning is mainly for travel or work, and your own view is not supported with a complete example or developed reasoning. The final sentence is cut off at “if you go to abroad to lea,” leaving the argument unfinished. The response is also 94 words below the required minimum, which limits how fully you can discuss both views. To improve, explain each perspective in a separate developed paragraph, then give a clear conclusion supported by a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces contrasting views, and the next paragraph gives your opinion and starts to provide reasons. Phrases such as “but” and “I firmly agree with this perspective” signal a contrast and your position. However, the ideas do not progress clearly from one point to the next, and the response ends mid-sentence. The opening repeats the idea that English is not only for one reason, while the later discussion shifts to education without clearly linking this to the two views in the question. Long strings of ideas joined by “and” and “but” make relationships difficult to follow. Use distinct paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and connect each example explicitly to its main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “foreign language,” “travel,” “abroad,” “institutions,” and “civil services,” so the reader can identify the general topic and your educational example. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “I firmly agree with this perspective” and “real life experience.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unclear, including “nesessary,” “instituess,” “special attention,” and “for the sake of every test.” “English” is repeated frequently, and some phrases do not express the intended meaning precisely. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for education, employment, travel, and cultural communication, and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to combine ideas in longer sentences, for example with “because” and “even then,” and you use a clear opinion clause: “I firmly agree with this perspective.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or difficult to interpret. In “the only reason to learn english because it is a foreign language,” the clause lacks a grammatical main structure; “this essay will be discuss” also has an incorrect verb form. Articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries need attention, as in “in a school and colleges” and the long sentence beginning “i agree with this because.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, making the sentence boundaries unclear. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking verb forms and punctuation.
