Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views by discussing language for travel and life abroad, then mentioning study and understanding other cultures. Your conclusion also signals that you see value in both perspectives. However, the discussion remains limited and the position is not consistently clear: the opening says there are “several arguments,” while the conclusion calls both views relevant without explaining your own preference or reasoning. Some points are repeated, such as the need to learn a language to travel, and examples such as “According to eminent” and the list of countries do not clearly support a specific claim. Develop each side with a clear explanation and a relevant example, then state directly why you believe language learning has purposes beyond travel and work.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. These markers help readers identify the two views. However, progression within the paragraphs is weak, and several ideas are joined without clear relationships. For example, the first body paragraph moves from travel to living abroad and then repeats the need to learn a language for travel. In the second, the links between cultural understanding, higher study, and the country list are unclear. Some connectors, including “Furthermore” and “According to,” do not establish a logical connection to the following point. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, explain it, and use clear references and transitions to show how examples support that claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary such as “contemporary world,” “foreign language,” “higher studies,” and “living style,” and you use some phrases intended to sound academic. However, the range is limited and several choices or spellings make the meaning difficult to follow, including “through provoking,” “a balanced evident of emission,” “prestigious countries follows these,” and “successful stories.” Repetition of “foreign language,” “arguments,” and “learn” also limits flexibility. Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than elaborate phrases whose meaning is unclear. For instance, you could describe language learning as “essential for international travel” or say it “provides access to educational opportunities.” Check spelling and word forms carefully, and choose vocabulary that expresses one precise idea.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “that” and “who,” but complex structures are often faulty and errors occur frequently. Examples include “the people should travel any country,” “foreign language not only useful,” and “a student want to do higher studies,” where sentence structure, articles, or verb forms are not controlled. Agreement is also inconsistent in “the student should learn … and should qualify their test.” Punctuation and spacing sometimes obscure sentence boundaries, as in the opening, where several sentences run together. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and punctuation, and proofread each sentence to ensure it has a clear subject and complete verb.
