Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. others say that these are not the only reasons from my prespective, people mostly learn foreign languages to work, and to travel different countries,
From my point of view, poeple move to the foreign countries in search of better future, people travel to foreign countries for higher education, to learn new skills. for example, if a student, some where in the county who's native language is not english, then how the student can communicate with the teachers and other students properly. That will give a huge impact in their studies. Therefore, a student have to learn language of that country.
Moreover, when a person moving to abroad for the better future, they have to get a suitable job. For that, a person has to learn their language, when they learn language then he can get job according to their desire. for instance, if a person is not learning the language of the country in which he is living, then he can not get his desirable job, and he can not get enough money to comeup of their expenses to live there. for that they have to learn foreign languages.
In conclusion, some people love to travel and communicate with the locals, for that they learn their languages, as well as some people move to other countries for higher education and for work permit or for immigration. To live their happily, and achieve the goal for that u have moved from your comfort zone , people have to learn their language.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You address the topic by explaining how language learning can support study and employment abroad, and your examples about communicating with teachers and finding suitable work are relevant. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, including reasons people might learn a language for purposes other than travel or work, and this second view is not meaningfully developed. Your opening mentions that there are other reasons, but the essay mainly argues for learning a language to study, travel, or work overseas. Your own position is also not stated clearly as a response to both sides. The response is 240 words, so it is 10 words below the 250-word minimum; the 33 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop the alternative reasons and state your opinion directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an opening, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The body paragraphs each focus on a related purpose—education and employment—and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “for example,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, progression is limited because both body paragraphs repeat the idea that people need the language to succeed abroad, while the view that there are other reasons is not given its own clear development. Some connections are awkward or unclear, particularly the long opening sentence and the shift from studying abroad to the general claim about moving for a better future. Use a clearer thesis, give each view a distinct paragraph, and make references between sentences more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “foreign languages,” “higher education,” “suitable job,” and “communicate with the teachers.” These choices make the subject clear, but the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, such as repeated references to “foreign countries” and “learn their language.” Some word choices and forms also reduce naturalness, including “comeup of their expenses,” “work permit,” and “better future.” Spelling and word-form errors such as “prespective” and “poeple” are noticeable. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, use “meet living costs” and “employment opportunities”—while checking spelling and choosing expressions that fit the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “if a student… whose native language is not English” and “when they learn language then he can get job.” However, these complex attempts are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to follow. Examples include “a student have to learn,” “when a person moving to abroad,” and “he can get job,” which show problems with agreement, verb forms, and articles. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, especially in the opening, where several ideas run together. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed subordinate clause, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation before adding further complexity.
