Student answer (Band 5.5)
LEARNING SOMETHING NEW IS ALWAYS PROGRESSIVE IN LIFE .SOME INDIVIDUALS ARGUE THAT PEOPLE LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE JUST FOR TRAVELLING AND WORK PURPOSES, WHILE OTHER ARGUE THAT ITS NOT ONLY THE REASON. BOTH THE VIEWS ARE DISCUUSED BELOW ALONG WITH MY OPINION.
TO COMMENCE WITH , PEOPLE THINKS THAT ONLY REASON PEOPLE LEARN NEW LANGUAGE IS FOR WORK AND TRVELLING ITS NOT FULLY DENIABLE AS TO WORK IN SOME EUROPEAN COUNTRIES ITS A NECCESSITY FOR IMMIGRANTS TO LEARN THERE LANGUAGE.FOR INSTANCE TO WORK IN GERMANY OR TO EVEN STUDY THERE YOU NEED TO LEARN AND MASTER GERMAN LANGUAGE ACCORDING TO RESEARCH DONE IN GERMANY MOST PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE TO SPEAK TO A FOREIGNER OTHER THEN IN GERMAN EVEN IF THEY ARE JUST TRAVELLING. SECONDLY IT CAN BE VERY BENEFICIAL IF YOU KNOW A LOCAL LANGUAGE WHILE TRAVELLING A [ARTICULAR COUNTRIES AS IT CAN MAKE COMMUNICATION EASY.
FURTHERMORE , BUT TO SAY THAT THIS IS SOLELY A REASON TO LEARN A LANGUAGE CAN NOT BE TRUE AS SOMETIMES PEOPLE WANT TO TRY DIFFRENT THING AND LEARNING A NEW LANGUGAE CAN BE ONE OF THAT. IT IS EXICTED TO LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE AND TO ADD THAT IN YOUR SKILL.TO STUDY IN FORIEGN ITS IMPORTANT TO LEARN A LANGUAGE SO THAT YOU CAN UNDERSTAND BETTER.
IN MY OPINION, LEARNING A NEW LANGUAGE DOES NIT REQUIRE CONDITION PURELY REGARDING WORK AND TRAVELLING SOMETIMES ITS CUROSITY THAT INTRIGUES PEOPLE TO LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE BY THAT YOU GET TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THAT CONTRY CULTURE.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and give a personal position: the first body paragraph explains language needs for work and travel, while the final paragraph says curiosity and cultural interest can also motivate learners. The examples of working or studying in Germany and communicating with local people are relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The claim about Germans preferring to speak German is broad and attributed vaguely to “research,” and the second view receives less explanation than the first. Your opinion is present, but it would be clearer if stated directly in the introduction and supported with a specific example. Develop each reason with a clear explanation of why it matters to learners and how it supports your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting travel and work, a paragraph presenting other reasons, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “Secondly,” and “Furthermore” help signal the discussion. However, some links are mechanical or confusing: “Furthermore, but” combines contrasting signals, and “Both the views are discussed below” does not clearly preview the argument. The second body paragraph also shifts from personal interest to studying abroad without a clear connection. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then connect examples and explanations with precise referencing. This would make the progression easier to follow while preserving the existing paragraph structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “necessity,” “immigrants,” “communication,” “curiosity,” and “culture.” These choices show an attempt to discuss more than basic travel needs. However, the range is limited, and several spelling errors or imprecise phrases make the writing less clear, such as “trvelling,” “diffre nt thing,” “exicted,” and “its not only the reason.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “add that in your skill” and “learn a new language just for travelling and work purposes.” Aim for accurate topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise wording for motivation, cultural understanding, and practical language needs would help express your ideas with greater clarity and flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if you know a local language while travelling” and a reason clause beginning “so that you can understand better.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “people thinks,” “only reason people learn,” “its not only the reason,” and the run-on construction “To work in Germany or to even study there you need to learn…” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also often missing, particularly in the long first body paragraph. Practise subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentence structures, and divide long sentences into shorter units. More accurate control of these basics would make your complex attempts clearer.
