Student answer (Band 5.5)

In some people's believe , it is necessary to achieve success in learning new language is oly for touring or visiting another coutry. Others think that it is used not only for visiting purpose, there are others reasons are included too.I'll discuss both side from my point of view.

First of all, it's definately necessary to know a local language, to know a place batter or commununicate in forign coutry, as it helps to reach the native people. Because if we know the mother tongue of the new place it can help us visit any place possible in that area, will able to reach their customs and cultures. By ensuring the local language we can avoid the possibilities of being tricked by some local frouds, can easily buy exotic things and have different kinds of meals in cheap price by bargaining with local vendors. In instance, if one try to full of one's visit in foreign coutry ,it is a positive factor to know local language and can mixed with the native people by giving them positive impression of knowing local language.

On the other hand, knowing a different language other than mother tongue is considerate a unique skill, which can be used in CV or curriculum vitae. It also prove that one has not only academic skills but also has vercetile knowledge. Besides, if we learn new language we can communicate with other people with expertise in that language , can give a good language. It will be also esier to take a higher study , as the higher study resource of our coutry is not that enriched. It also helps us to take job in foreign company. Such as, for the construction purpose there are many japanese, british, chinese company was build and foreign people has to come, for diffrent reasons and to communicate with local people, they will be needing people with expert in these language, which also open a new way for jobs. So, skill of speaking in different language has not only one purpose ,rather than it has different uses too.

Over all, both of these reason are totally true, it cannot be said that one is not true. Because for traveling it is necessary but if we think speaking in foreign language is a skill, then it has a wide range of uses. It can be added in our CV as an extra value.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both stated views: the first body paragraph explains how a local language can help travellers communicate, understand customs and bargain, while the second gives wider reasons such as employment, study and adding a skill to a CV. Your conclusion also makes your position clear that language learning has several uses, while acknowledging travel as one valid reason. These points are relevant, but they are not developed equally: the travel examples are more specific, whereas the claims about higher study and jobs could be explained more fully and supported with a clearer example. The opening also frames the first view somewhat narrowly as touring or visiting. To strengthen the response, explain the broader work-related reason in the prompt and develop each main point with a precise example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding summary. Signposts such as “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “Overall” help readers follow the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Because if we know…” begins a fragment, and the sequence from language skills to higher study and then employment in the second body paragraph would benefit from clearer grouping. Some references, such as “these reason,” are not fully clear or consistent. Use topic sentences to state each paragraph’s main point, then organise supporting explanations and examples in a logical order. More precise linking between claims would make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “native people,” “customs and cultures,” “curriculum vitae,” and “academic skills.” There is also some variety in how you describe benefits, such as communication, study and employment. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “forign,” “frouds,” and “vercetile” are examples. Several phrases are also unnatural, including “reach their customs,” “give a good language,” and “full of one’s visit.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than more complicated wording. Proofread spelling carefully, and learn phrases in context—for example, “experience local customs,” “make a good impression,” and “make the most of a visit.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if we know…” and clauses introduced by “which” and “as.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, there are some errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation. For instance, “there are others reasons are included too” combines structures incorrectly, while “It also prove” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “Because if we know…” is incomplete, and several long sentences join multiple ideas without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate complex sentences, checking that each sentence has a main clause, and reviewing agreement and article use before submitting.
