In this contemporary world, majority of individuals believe that one reason for learning a foreign language is essential for tourism or an employment while some people argue that they have another purpose of learning a foreign landuage. This essay will elucides bith the views of this situation along with its logical conclusion in upcoming paragraphs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views: the second paragraph links language learning to employment, business and travel, while the third introduces learning for knowledge and career opportunities. Your opinion is also present, particularly in the statement that people should learn various languages. However, the discussion is only partial. The reasons beyond travel and work are not clearly distinguished or explained, and the claim about becoming “independent financially” is difficult to connect to learning English. The example about Gujarati people learning French is asserted rather than explained, so it does not strongly support the point. The conclusion shifts to what governments should do instead of clearly restating your own view. Develop each reason with a clear explanation or relevant example, and keep your position consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a statement of opinion and a conclusion. Connectors such as “To commence with,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the move from employment to business investment and then to the Gujarati example does not show precisely how each point relates to the main argument. Some linking phrases are also mechanical, and the final paragraph introduces government policy without a clear link to the opinion stated earlier. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main idea, then connect each example directly to that idea and use referencing to make relationships between points clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “employment,” “expand new business,” “multi-linguistic,” and “communication.” This shows an effort to discuss language learning beyond basic terms. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “elucides,” “temendous,” “mendetory,” and “knowledgable.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “another purpose of learning a foreign language” and “represent their smartness.” Choose more precise, natural expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, explain that language learning can broaden cultural understanding or improve career prospects, rather than relying on vague claims about knowledge and smartness.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “where,” “in order to,” and “as a result.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction occur frequently. For example, “foreign language play vital role” lacks agreement and necessary articles, while “people are trend to learn” has an incorrect verb pattern. The opening sentence also runs several ideas together without clear punctuation, and some sentence fragments or incomplete constructions make relationships hard to follow. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammatical connection is clear.
