Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You discuss both views and give a clear opinion in the conclusion: learning a language for travel and work is useful, but should not be the only motivation. The work-related paragraph gives relevant support, especially the points about entering another job market and communicating with colleagues. You also introduce cultural understanding and relationships as alternative reasons. However, these latter ideas are less fully explained: the point about finding a partner, for example, is asserted rather than developed with a clear example or explanation of its wider relevance. The opening could also define the two positions more precisely. To strengthen the response, explain each reason in more depth and make the connection between examples and your opinion explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on work and travel, a paragraph on other motivations, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Furthermore” help readers follow the main points. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because several ideas are introduced through the same listing pattern, and some links between sentences are unclear. For instance, the move from cultural understanding to finding a partner is abrupt, while “Let's talk about the other reason” does not clearly signal that several reasons will follow. Referencing is also occasionally vague, as in “doing it.” Use more varied transitions and make links between claims and examples explicit to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “cultural diversity,” “customs and rituals,” “job market,” and “communicate.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “soul mate” and “fit in,” though some choices are inaccurate or informal for this essay. Errors such as “travel to abroad,” “local languageso,” “finid,” and “boaders” show inconsistent control of spelling, word forms, and collocation. Phrases such as “benefit you many reasons” also make the intended meaning less clear. Build a more precise range by learning common combinations—for example, “work overseas” and “gain insight into a culture”—and proofread spelling and word choice.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “if you know the local language … this will make…” and a relative clause beginning “where you are planning to work.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but grammatical errors occur across the response and sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “Learning foreign language for beneficial,” “having command at different language,” and “this will make to to fit in well there.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, as in “learning a local language make you able.” Practise building accurate basic clauses first, then check each sentence for a subject, a correctly formed verb, and appropriate articles.
