Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You introduce both views and state your position with “I believe that learning a new language has several advantages.” The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons for learning a language to travel or work, including communicating with local people and gaining career opportunities. However, the response is incomplete: the second view is only briefly introduced, and the final idea about understanding cultures is cut off without explanation or an example. Your own opinion is not developed beyond the opening. The response also contains 192 words, below the required 250, which contributes to the limited coverage. To strengthen the answer, explain both perspectives fully, support each with a specific example, and add a conclusion that clearly restates your view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting travel and work, and a paragraph beginning to discuss other reasons. Linking expressions such as “To commence with,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the argument. However, progression is incomplete because the final paragraph stops after “open,” leaving the discussion unfinished and without a conclusion. Some connections are also awkward or unclear, particularly “If people can learn new language for travelling or working so…” and “hence to this.” Organise each paragraph around one complete point, use clear links between the reason and its explanation, and finish with a concluding paragraph. This would make the overall progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “career opportunities,” “communicate,” “local people,” and “different cultures.” These choices show an effort to discuss both practical and broader benefits. However, spelling errors are frequent and sometimes make the reader work to identify the intended word, as in “benifits,” “neccesary,” “foreing,” and “intrnatinal.” There are also inaccurate or unnatural combinations, such as “extreme benefits” and “enjoy there trip comfortabley.” The range remains limited, with repeated use of “learn,” “language,” and “easily.” Check spelling carefully and build a bank of natural collocations, such as “gain employment abroad,” “interact with residents,” and “broaden one’s cultural understanding.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional idea beginning “If people can learn…” and a sentence explaining how language skills may create career opportunities. However, the complex attempts are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. Examples include “learning new skills play significant role,” where the subject and verb do not agree and an article is missing, and “learning a foreign language provide,” which has the same agreement problem. The conditional sentence also has an unclear structure, while “they can easily asking someone” uses the wrong verb form. Practise subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns, then check each sentence for a complete and correctly formed clause.
