Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views: the first body paragraph explains language learning for travel and work, while the second gives cultural understanding and entertainment as other motives. Your conclusion also indicates that you see professional and personal benefits. However, the position is not fully clear or consistently developed: the introduction says you will give an opinion but does not state it, and the conclusion mainly repeats broad claims. Some support is unclear or under-developed, such as the claim that travellers can “enjoy to work with their colleagues,” which does not clearly explain the travel benefit. State your view directly and develop each reason with a relevant, specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the discussion, and examples are placed alongside the relevant points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with repeated links such as “Moreover,” “Additionally,” and “As a result” rather than clear explanation of how one idea leads to the next. Some references are also unclear, particularly “they can understand everythings,” where the intended meaning is difficult to follow. Improve cohesion by linking each example explicitly to its main point and using pronouns only when their reference is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “career opportunities,” “customs,” and “foreign language,” and the reader can generally identify your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make expression awkward: “diffrent,” “comon,” “multi-language,” and “entertain themselves to watch” are examples. Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “the very important” and “different purpose.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and natural word combinations; for example, use “understand another culture” and “watch foreign films” rather than translating phrases word by word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and subordinate structures such as “If people want to travel…” and “because they want to understand different culture.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include “the main reasons is,” “learning a new language is the necessary for communicate,” and “individuals who speak English and French, they can get…” The final sentence also begins with lowercase “it” after a full stop. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, infinitive forms, and sentence boundaries. Aim to make the basic structure of each sentence correct before adding extra clauses.
