Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You express a relevant personal view: you say people may learn from passion, and that you would learn languages for work rather than travel. You also touch on both sides by mentioning travel and employment. However, the discussion is minimal and does not explain the view that travel is a reason for learning in any detail; the claim that people can travel without knowing the language is not supported with an example. Your reasons about work and living in another country are also repeated rather than developed. The response is 80 words below the required minimum, so it has limited space to address both views and support your opinion. Develop each side with a clear reason and a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic line of thought: you begin with the idea that personal interest is a reason to learn, then discuss travel and work, and finish with your own preference. This gives the reader some sense of your position. However, the response is one long paragraph, and ideas run together, especially in the opening and the final sentence. Connectors such as “but” and “so” are repeated and do not clearly show how each point relates to the next. Some references, including “their” and “that country,” are unclear. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and make each paragraph focus on one main point with clear links between sentences.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant words, including “foreign language,” “travel,” “work,” “job,” and “country,” so the general topic is identifiable. There are also attempts to express ideas such as personal motivation and employment. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and several inaccurate forms or combinations make the message harder to follow, such as “passinote about learn to language,” “growth in your favorite country,” and “make easay thing.” Spelling errors such as “easay” and “cam” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise range for discussing motivation, communication, employment, and cultural understanding, and check word forms and spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences using “if,” “because,” and “but,” which shows some effort to express relationships between reasons. However, sentence structures are often difficult to control, and errors frequently affect clarity. For example, “if someone want” lacks subject–verb agreement, while “he do not think” and “you have learn” have incorrect verb forms. The opening also has unclear sentence boundaries and punctuation, and several clauses are joined without full stops. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with subordinate clauses. Check agreement, auxiliary verbs, infinitives, articles, and punctuation so that your meaning is easier to follow.
