Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, foreign language play a crucial role in order to mentain a cultural and country values. Some people argue that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country while other say these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language. I believe another country langauge give a considerable sense about different cultural but it also should be use throughout the career goals. This essay will discuss both opinions.

On the one hand, in my first opinion, learning a foreign language help you to not just in order to explore locations or work in a abroad but also give you a chance to build successful career. For example, learn foreign language for international students helps them to survive more and assits them to communicate properly without any hesitation with foreign person. Furthermore, by learning different language increases their chances to get part-time of full-time job easily without waiting or completing their foreign language course. In addition, language is a medium or source to pay their fees and other expenditures by learning abroad language.

Another opinion is that, foreign language can be used to acquire a knowledge and experience about another regional value and culture. Those people who migrate one to another city for travel to or work should also take actions to get information about their language or living standard. For instance, A person can earn considerable amount by teaching abroad language by a outside country students via internet if a person have prior experience in a multiple language.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give a personal position, particularly by arguing that language learning can support career opportunities and provide insight into another culture. However, the discussion only partially answers the question because the reasons are not consistently explained or clearly balanced. The first body paragraph focuses mainly on international students’ jobs and expenses, rather than developing travel and work as reasons in their own right. The cultural point is relevant, but the example about earning money by teaching online shifts back to employment and does not clearly support cultural learning. Your opinion is also difficult to identify precisely: the introduction says language should be used for career goals, while the conclusion emphasises travel and income. State your view directly and develop each reason with a clear explanation and relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable essay structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help identify stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is not always clear, and some links between ideas are difficult to follow. For example, the point that language is “a medium or source to pay their fees” does not clearly connect to the preceding claim about employment. The two views are also not consistently separated: the first paragraph introduces career benefits, while the second begins with culture but ends with online teaching income. Use topic sentences that match each view, then order supporting explanations and examples logically. Clearer referencing and fewer mechanical transitions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “cultural values,” “international students,” “part-time” and “living standard,” and the reader can generally understand the intended subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret. Examples include “mentain,” “langauge,” “assits,” “work in a abroad,” and “a considerable sense about different cultural.” Some phrases, such as “pay their fees and other expenditures by learning abroad language,” do not express the intended relationship clearly. Build a more accurate set of topic collocations, such as “gain insight into another culture,” “communicate with local people,” and “improve employment prospects.” Check spelling and word forms, and choose precise expressions rather than repeating broad terms such as “language” and “foreign.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “who” and “if.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms frequently make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “foreign language help you” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “learning different language increases” lacks an article and has an unclear subject construction. In “if a person have prior experience,” the verb does not agree with its subject. The sentence beginning “Furthermore, by learning different language increases…” is also structurally incomplete because the introductory phrase is not connected correctly to the main clause. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check articles, plurals and punctuation.
