Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and give a personal opinion, so the response addresses the main parts of the prompt. The first body paragraph explains practical benefits for work and travel, with the example of finding employment in the UK or Germany. The second introduces cultural understanding and educational access, and the final paragraph states that you value these benefits as well as overseas job opportunities. However, the opinion is not fully consistent: the introduction emphasises education and culture, while the conclusion focuses mainly on employment. Several points, such as access to research and online lectures, are mentioned but not explained in depth. Develop these ideas and make your position clear and consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “For example” help signal the direction of the discussion, and the examples generally follow the points they support. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The second body paragraph moves from culture to education, then healthcare, fitness, and shopping without showing how these examples connect to the central argument. Some linking is also mechanical, and the conclusion repeats earlier points rather than clearly synthesising them. Group related ideas together and use clearer references and transitions to show how each example supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “employment opportunities,” “career prospects,” “professional challenges,” and “proficiency,” and these choices help communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts to use a range of expressions for travel, work, education, and culture. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “a significant number of populations,” “reason of learning,” “neighboring countries” in the travel context, and “access researches.” Repetition of “helps” and “foreign language” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise, natural combinations and check word forms. For example, “a significant number of people,” “a reason for learning,” and “access research” would express the intended meanings more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “as well as,” and “when.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main message is generally understandable. However, errors occur frequently in verb agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction. Examples include “Learning foreign language create,” “learning a foreign language play,” and “it enable people,” where the subject and verb do not agree. The opening “Although foreign languages provide…” is also an incomplete sentence, while “when a student moves to abroad” has an incorrect preposition pattern. Review subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries, and edit each sentence for articles and grammatical forms before submitting.
