The charts below show the proportions of British students at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The pie charts illustrate the proportions of students at a university in England who could speak non-native languages in 2000 and 2010.

Overall, majority of people could not speak any other language than English in 2000 and 2010. Spanish was the most common non-native language spoken in 2000, whereas in 2010 spanish and french were equally popular.

in 2000, 30% of students in the university only spoke English. This was followed by students who could speak Spanish and English, making up 20% of the proportion. 15% of students could speak French along with their native language. German and English speakers had a 10% share. 15% of students spoke a language except for Spanish, French or German; whereas 10% of people spoke two other languages along with English.

The percentage of pupils who could speak no other language slightly increased to 35% in 2010. Students who could speak two other languages also saw a rise making up 15% of the portion. Spanish and French speakers decreased between 2000 and 2010, each being spoken by only 10% of students. People who spoke a language other than French, German or Spanish along with English had a 20% proportion in 2010. Individuals who could speak German along with English remained the same at 10% in both years.
