Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response attempts to summarize the data but struggles with accuracy and clarity. While you identify the main features, there are significant factual errors in your interpretation of the charts. For example, you state that German and '2 other languages' were both 10% in 2000, but the chart shows German at 10% and '2 other languages' at 15%. Furthermore, your description of the 2010 data is confusing and contradicts the visual evidence provided. To improve, focus on accurately transcribing the data points and ensuring your comparisons are logically sound. The overview is present but lacks the precision required for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is hindered by confusing sentence structures and inaccurate referencing. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'Whilst, there were languages that raised' and 'No another language had been raised'. These transitions do not effectively link ideas. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that you use linking words (e.g., 'in contrast', 'furthermore', 'consequently') more naturally to guide the reader through your analysis of the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'had the same amount' and 'raised', which lacks the precision needed for academic writing. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'singular university' instead of 'a single university' and 'platueo' (spelled incorrectly as 'platueo' and used incorrectly as a verb). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more varied and precise vocabulary related to data trends, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', 'experienced a decline', or 'accounted for'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('no other languages was', 'all these percentages summation are'), incorrect article usage ('at singular university'), and awkward sentence construction ('the choicest that has significant amount'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex syntax. Proofreading for common errors like pluralization and tense consistency will significantly improve the readability of your work.
