The charts below show the proportions of British students at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given pie charts provide us with the details about the number of students speaking languages other than English in the years 2000 and 2010.

Overall, we can see a rise in the students speaking English only over the years, while the the number of students speaking languages like Spanish and French decreased significantly.

In 2000, 35% of the students could only speak English, while 10% of them could speak two other languages. As far as German and Spanish are concerned, these languages were spoken by 10 and 20 percent of the students respectively. However, the number of French speaking students and those who spoke another language was exactly the same i.e 10% each.

On the other hand, in 2010 the percentage of students speaking English only rose to 35%, while the number of students speaking two other languages increased to 15%. Spanish, German and Freanch were spoken by 10% each. However, 20% of the students could speak some other language.
