The charts below show the proportions of British students at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie chart compares the percentage of british students at a university in United Kingdoms who can speak other languages in addition to English in 2000 and 2010.

Overall, it can be seen that majority of british learners had not learned any other language in recent years. Meanwhile the proportion of german speakers remained same in these years.

Turning to the details, the percentage of two other language was 10% in 2000 which accounted a increase of 5% in 2010. The proportion of french language decreased to 10% in 2010 which was 15% in 2000. Similarly, learners of spanish language dropped from 20% to 10% in 2010.

Moving further, the ratio of another languages rose significantly to 20% in a decade. While the learners of german language remained at the same proportion of 10% in the tenure of 10 years. The percentage of no other language speakers was 30% in 2000 which climbed to 35% in 2010.
