Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 3.0

The response fails to address the actual task provided, which concerns British students' language skills. Instead, it describes a completely different topic regarding museum visitor satisfaction. Furthermore, the response is under the 150-word minimum requirement, which significantly impacts the score. Because the content is entirely off-topic, it does not provide a summary of the required data, failing to report main features or make relevant comparisons. Consequently, the task achievement is severely compromised.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'Firstly', and 'Therefore'. However, the logical progression is hindered by the fact that the content is irrelevant to the prompt. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the mechanical use of transition words does not compensate for the lack of a coherent argument related to the actual data provided in the prompt.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'figures of tourists visit' instead of 'visitor numbers' and 'rosed' instead of 'rose'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the data with any precision. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of appropriate terminology for describing charts and trends limits the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede clarity. Examples include 'The table and pie charts illustrates' (subject-verb agreement error), 'visitors are increases' (incorrect verb form), and 'as compared with before' (awkward phrasing). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the control over basic grammar is inconsistent. The errors are frequent and often distract the reader from the intended meaning.
