Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given two pie charts provides evidence about British students at of England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in year 2000 and 2010. It is very evident that the data has been collected by surveying several languages, such as, French, German, Spanish, etc.
For the year 2000, 20% of students were able to speak Spanish language, 15% for French language, 10% for German language. Furthermore, 15% of students were capable of speaking another also, and only 10% of students were able to speak more than 2 different languages other than English.
However, these numbers have faced significant amount change in the year 2010. Now, French speakers have decreased to 10%, which is the same case for the Spanish speakers. Moreover, German speakers were completely unbothered, but, the proportion of "two other language" speakers have faced an increment by 5% more than year 2000.
Therefore, it can be concluded by the data provided by both charts that, the diversity of different languages have reduced significantly over the time period of 10 years, whereas the native language speakers have faced increment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the charts, but there are significant inaccuracies in the data reporting. For instance, you state that German speakers were 'completely unbothered' (meaning unchanged), yet the chart shows a clear decrease from 10% to 5%. Additionally, the conclusion mentions that 'native language speakers have faced increment,' which is not supported by the provided data, as the charts only show percentages of students who speak other languages. To improve, ensure you carefully cross-reference the data points between the two years and avoid making assumptions that are not explicitly shown in the visual information.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore,' 'However,' and 'Therefore' to link ideas. However, the progression of information is sometimes hindered by unclear referencing. For example, the phrase 'which is the same case for the Spanish speakers' is slightly awkward. Additionally, the transition between the description of the data and the conclusion could be smoother. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would improve the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportions,' 'diversity,' and 'increment.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and unnatural collocations. For example, 'unbothered' is not appropriate for describing statistical data; 'remained stable' or 'showed no change' would be more accurate. Similarly, 'faced significant amount change' is grammatically incorrect and lacks precision. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate for a formal report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'The given two pie charts provides' (subject-verb agreement) and 'at of England' (preposition error). You also use 'the year 2000' repeatedly, which could be varied. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will help improve your accuracy and move your score into the higher bands.
