Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the task by describing the charts, but the information provided is often inaccurate or confusing. For instance, the claim that 'Spanish 20 percentage and 2010 they decrease in 10 percent' does not align with the provided data. The overview is unclear and fails to highlight the main trends effectively. While the response identifies some categories, the lack of clarity and the misinterpretation of the data mean that the requirements of the task are only partially addressed. To improve, you must focus on accurately reading the data points and grouping them logically to show clear comparisons between the two years.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'Finally, no other languages are increase her rate in 2010.whenever 2000 had higher'. The referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the years. The transition between sentences is often abrupt, and the lack of clear signposting makes the overall structure feel disjointed. Improving the use of linking words like 'whereas', 'in contrast', and 'similarly' would help create a more cohesive flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which hinders the clarity of the report. There are frequent errors in word choice, such as 'British childrens' instead of 'students' and 'Garman' instead of 'German'. The phrasing is often repetitive, and the attempt to use more complex vocabulary results in awkward expressions like 'prepare in language'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to convey the data precisely. You should focus on learning specific terminology for describing charts, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', and 'experienced a decline'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'bar charts illustration'), tense usage (e.g., 'no other languages are increase'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack a clear subject and verb. The range of grammatical structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practicing the correct use of present and past tenses when describing data.
