Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to summarize the provided charts regarding British students' language skills. However, the student misinterprets several key aspects of the visual data, such as stating the timeframe is '2000 to 2020' instead of 2000 and 2010, and misreading specific percentages (e.g., mentioning 'others have 15 or 10 percents' without clear support from the prompt). The overview is vague and conversational ('Accourding to my side...'). While some main features are partially addressed, the overall lack of accurate data reporting and misunderstanding of graphical details place this performance at Band 4.0, as the response is minimally and inaccurately tied to the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response is divided into three short paragraphs, but the information is not arranged coherently. Progression is weak and difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or incorrectly, such as 'In case we saw', 'In this chart we see', and 'On the third number'. There are also referencing issues where it is unclear what 'both have big community' or 'other too languages' refers to. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow is disrupted by fragmented sentences and poor transitions, justifying a Band 4.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
Vocabulary is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by spelling errors and incorrect word choices. Examples include 'british' (uncapitalized), 'speeking', 'Franch', 'numrous', and 'paticular'. The student attempts less common items like 'proportions', 'communicate', and 'community', but these are used inaccurately or inappropriately in context (e.g., 'Spanish speeking language students also a great amount in this picture'). Spelling and word-formation errors are frequent throughout the text, straining the reader's understanding and aligning with the Band 4.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is very limited, relying mostly on simple or heavily flawed complex structures. There are frequent, pervasive errors in basic grammar, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Examples include 'The graph under illustrate' (singular/plural mismatch), 'no other language have too much students', and 'Its explain that no other languages have too much contribution'. The high frequency of grammatical errors distorts meaning in several places and prevents the text from achieving a higher band score, resulting in a Band 4.0.
