The charts below show the proportions of British students at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The pie charts illustrates the proportrions of British students who are able to speak languages other than english in 2000 and 2010.
Overall, no other language accounted highest majority of students they are not unable intrested to learn new languages while, Spanish was the most common. However, German and the ability to speak other two languages accounted for the smallest proportions.
In details, 20% of students spoke Spanish, which was the highest figure for specific language. French was the second most popular, with 15% could speak another language, while 10% spoke German.
Secondally, the remaining 10% of students were able to speak two other languages. In comparisan, the proportion who could not speak any language other than English was considerably higher at 30%. Therefore, exactly 70% of British students were able to speak at least one language in 2000. In 2010, the ratio remained same there is no changes as well.
