Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yes it is a true statement . With the respect of my opinion I believe if we recycle maximum of our household waste we will keep our planet clean. so nowadays many of people does not recycle their household waste and spreading the waste on the earth and if we recycle our household waste we save our environment clean and healthy.some of the household waste when we throw on the ground it start degrading easily and in very little bit of time it dissolve in the mud but some of the household waste when throw on the ground it does not start degrading easily and it remain on the earth for million of years and it also cause smell .The household waste also cause disease and it is cause very bad smell so if all of the people start recycle their house waste we will get rid from these problem so at this time not all the people

recycling their waste so if the government make a rule of recycling and in the case of breaking this rule government will punish and fine him .In my opinion it is only a way to force people to recycle their maximum of household waste .As we see that the things on which government amplifies the law people are doing these things correct. so if government will amplifies the law on it the people definitely start recycling her household waste

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear general view that people should recycle and that government rules, backed by fines, are needed to make them do so. You also offer relevant reasons, including pollution, slow decomposition and unpleasant smells. However, the response only partially develops the question: it does not explain why laws are more effective than other approaches, such as education or better recycling facilities, and the examples remain general. The opening claim, “Yes it is a true statement,” does not clearly establish how far you agree. The response is also 13 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasoning. State your position directly, then explain and support it with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic line of argument: household waste causes environmental problems, and government rules and penalties could encourage recycling. Some linking expressions, such as “so” and “in my opinion,” help show connections between ideas. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the progression from the effects of waste to the need for laws is difficult to follow. “So” is repeated frequently, and several ideas are joined into lengthy sentences rather than organised into clear stages. Use separate paragraphs for your position, reasons and conclusion, and choose a wider range of accurate links. Clearer sentence boundaries and references would also help readers see how each point supports your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “household waste,” “recycling,” “environment,” “degrading” and “government.” This gives the reader a basic understanding of your subject. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “household waste” and “recycle.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “spreading the waste on the earth,” “amplifies the law” and “get rid from these problem.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to understand. Build a broader set of natural expressions for waste management and government action, and check how verbs combine with nouns. For example, say that waste “pollutes the land” and that governments “enforce regulations.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas using longer sentences and clauses, for example, “if we recycle our household waste we save our environment clean and healthy.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and the response contains frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries. Examples include “many of people does not recycle,” “it start degrading,” and “it remain on the earth.” Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and a lowercase “so” beginning a sentence. These patterns can make the argument difficult to read. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add conditional clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and punctuation in each sentence.
