Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 116 words. This failure to meet the length requirement severely limits the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly in the introduction, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped and incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. To achieve a higher band, you must fully expand on your arguments with specific examples and ensure the essay is of the required length. The task is only partially addressed due to the lack of sufficient content and the unfinished nature of the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay attempts to use cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost' and 'Furthermore', but the overall structure is compromised by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the progression of ideas is interrupted by the abrupt ending. The logical flow is difficult to follow because the arguments are not fully developed. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts within each paragraph and ensuring that each point is linked clearly to the main thesis statement.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'taking care of recycling' and 'rules and regulation' are functional but basic. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'rise in recycling' instead of 'increase in recycling'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'mandatory legislation', 'environmental conservation', or 'waste management policies', and ensure that words are used in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains several grammatical errors that hinder clarity. For example, 'I strongly agree with later statement which will be explain' contains errors in article usage and verb tense. There are also issues with sentence fragments and incomplete structures, such as 'To ela' at the end of the text. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and ensuring that all sentences are complete and grammatically sound.
