Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is undeniable that pollution has become a pensive concern in this modern era . In this regards some people believed that government make a legal laws for recycling the waste .I agree to a large extent in with this notion due to several reasons which will outline in forthcoming fragment with logical conclusion
To commence with there are several point for making a legal laws for recycling of waste firstly fear for penalties to explain it that people follows the rules only if the government set the penalties for those pupils who do not follow the rules then people recycle waste .secondly it helps to clean the environment . To justify it that if the people recycle their home waste helps to clean the environment for example a survey conducted by BBC news about 50 % of waste are household waste .moreover it show their reponsiblity about their country to clarify it that people will aware about pollution and follow the made by government .
however there are few point for other point first and fore most are government conduct a camps to aware the people about recycling of waste because those people who live in country side do not know about these law so camps are held in different parts of cities
In conclusion although there are several points for making laws such fear for penalties and helps to clean environment yet

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state your position clearly, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth. For instance, the point about 'fear of penalties' is mentioned but not fully explored in terms of its practical application or societal impact. The conclusion is incomplete, which prevents a full summary of your position. To improve, ensure you provide more detailed explanations and examples for each point, and always complete your essay structure to ensure all parts of the task are addressed thoroughly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'firstly', and 'however', but these are often used mechanically or incorrectly. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph is incomplete, which disrupts the logical flow of the argument. The progression of ideas is sometimes difficult to follow due to the lack of clear transitions between sentences. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting details that logically connect to the main argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'pensive concern' (likely meaning 'pressing concern') and 'pupils' (used to refer to citizens). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. To improve, try to learn collocations related to environmental issues and government policy. Avoid using informal or inaccurate terms. Expanding your vocabulary through reading academic articles will help you use more precise and sophisticated language in your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('government make', 'people follows'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, which makes the text difficult to read. While there is an attempt at complex sentence structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement. Proofreading your work for common errors like missing articles or incorrect verb forms will help improve the overall accuracy of your writing.
