Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is undeniable that Pollution has become a pensive concern in this modern era. In this regards, some people think that much trash is not recycled from homes while other think that govenment should make laws to increase recycling and stopping pollution. I agree to a small extent to this notion due to many reasons which will be outlined in forthcoming fragments with a logical conclusion.

To commence with, there are several positive outcomes of introducing laws by government. First and foremost is that people will have fear to fines. To explain it, while government will introduce laws peopl;e will have fear of high fines and they will afraid of punishments will start recycling the trash and help nature. For example, a survey was conducted and revealed that most of careless people cooperate only after strict actions. Secondly, Help to reduce level of pollution. To ellaborate it, due to this laws pollution will be controlled at very high level by govenment steps like colour coding dustbins and cloth bags. Moreover, it will develop a sense of responsibility. To Clarify it, it will make a people feel about there responsibility to their nation and make the country more neat and clean. As a result, it will play a great role in country development.

Nevertheless, despite having pros of former statement there are few drawbacks of this statement. The prime one is that should aware public. To write with, instead of introducing laws government shoud do saminars and aware people about their responsibility to their nation. Government should explain pros and cons of c

pollution and of recycling items. For instance, Govenment should spread awareness online as most of people are on internet thesedays.

To conclude, although there are several benefits of this statement such as Fear of fines, Help to reduce pollution yet few drawbacks can never be neglected at any cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified both the benefits of legal requirements and the alternative of public awareness. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'fines' is repetitive, and the example provided is vague. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'how' and 'why' of your arguments with more specific, concrete examples. While the position is clear, the supporting points lack the depth required for a higher score, as they rely on general statements rather than well-extended reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and you use basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Secondly', and 'Nevertheless'. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the use of cohesive devices is occasionally repetitive or slightly unnatural, such as 'To write with' or 'To explain it'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas could be smoother. The paragraphing is sufficient, but the internal structure of the paragraphs needs more sophisticated linking to ensure a more natural progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat limited and contains several errors in word choice and collocation. For example, you use 'pensive concern' (which is incorrect in this context) and 'govenment' (spelling error). Phrases like 'make a people feel about there responsibility' are awkward. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'recycling' and 'pollution', the range is not wide enough to demonstrate flexibility. Focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring correct spelling to improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('people... will afraid'), article usage ('the government'), and punctuation errors (e.g., 'peopl;e'). Some sentences are fragmented or lack proper structure, such as 'The prime one is that should aware public.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofread for basic punctuation and spelling mistakes.
