Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some people believe that without laws that force each home to recycle their waste, there will be an insignificant amount of recycling waste.
From my perspective, I believe laws is not enough, governments need to increase people's awareness instead as that the only way make them consist of recycling and divide their waste correctly.
Furthermore, awareness is the key for societies to reach a continuous improvement and change people's behaviors using the available tools for that such as advertising and rewards. Advertisement will increase the awareness with the advantages of recycling and the consequences of throwing waste.
For instance, in Japan, people divide their waste and recycle it as a result of their knowledge by the the consequences and to maintain their society clean and in health.
In Egypt, the government made an advertising campaign about early examination for virus C and its importance with its care for free, as a result, a significant amount of people in different ages and from various social levels went to the hospitals and the rates for this disease became minor.
Furthermore, the suitable campaign with some competitions in recycling will get a higher rate of people recycle their waste in a creative ways. In addition to, providing alternatives for throwing wastes will get people's attention.
Finally, governments have various methods to make people recycle more of their waste. In this essay, only two methods are discussed like advertising and competitions with substational award but there are more ways that can be done as a secondary ways that enhance the behaviors too.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that education is more effective than legislation. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples from Japan and Egypt, the connection between the Egyptian example (health awareness) and the topic of recycling is not fully explained, making the argument less persuasive. To reach a higher band, ensure that every example directly supports your central thesis and provides more depth regarding why legislation might be insufficient compared to awareness campaigns.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'Finally' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'In addition to, providing alternatives'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transition between the discussion of recycling and the example of the virus campaign in Egypt is abrupt. Improving the use of linking phrases and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'insignificant', 'consequences', and 'substational' (though this is a spelling error). There are some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'make them consist of recycling' and 'maintain their society clean and in health'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your argument. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'laws is not enough', 'the the consequences', and 'in a creative ways'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your score in this area.
