Student answer (Band 6.5)

When the topic of recycling is discussed, there is some people believe that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. Some regulations and rules is the primary solution to increase recycling by authorities. To a major degree I agree with this notion. My stance is explained further in the ensuing paragraphs.

To justify my preference, one key point is that, authorities has rights to divert citizen's mindset. Few changes of effective regulation often encourage people to recycle their waste or give second life to the waste product. In this case, people obey the rules when strict legal action taken place for proper waste solution. If the individuals put emphasis to deal this solution, it will be the immense change for the environment. Furthermore, it is obvious that when people do not follow the rules, they might be punish. Therefore, they have some fear about it. As a result, they follow the legal regulation on the behalf of the penalty.

To add to this, some advance step government can lead to follow to enhance the proper technology to make effective. For instance, Germany has an advanced technology to recycle waste so that, people collect their plastic waste to throw in machine. As a result, they get money according to their waste. Although the advanced technology requires strong finance, it is beneficial in the long run.

On the other hand, it is individuals responsibilities to take care of their own waste. However, some people do not follow the rule, if they will punish.

To conclude, strict law enforcement can assist to people to manage the waste. Nonetheless, some might be not follow for their own because they do not want to follow the legal requirement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of legal enforcement and the example of Germany's recycling technology. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding 'fear' of penalties is repetitive, and the final paragraph is underdeveloped, failing to fully synthesize the argument. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your points with more detailed explanations and ensure that your conclusion provides a more comprehensive summary of your main arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'For instance', and 'On the other hand'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'To justify my preference' which does not perfectly fit the context of the paragraph. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth transitions, making the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the ideas progress more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'regulations', 'enforcement', and 'beneficial'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'divert citizen's mindset' and 'on the behalf of the penalty'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on direct translations or slightly misused phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('there is some people', 'authorities has rights'), incorrect verb forms ('they might be punish'), and missing articles or prepositions. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that passive voice constructions are formed correctly.
