Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, many people believe that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. I agree with this statement. In this essay, I will explain my opinion with relevant examples.
Firstly, I believe this because people must follow the governments law, and if anyone break the law then must pay the fine. For example, if governments start this scheme, and everyone know that we must recycle the waste thing in one place, then society and Environment must be better. Furthermore, form these laws the environment must be protect,
like every street and open place look nice no plenty of waste material recycled by people. one more thing which governments should do. they create a building where all the people recycle the waste and earn the money, so like this people must be avoid to recycle the waste. they want to get money
Secondly, officials improve the recycle bins and system collection. For instance, make the proper recycle bin in front of every house , and make the one team who collect this waste materials, and take the care of cleanes. Moreover, if the governments do this, then the public awareness gradually increase. People more Knowledge about the the system of recycled and law of recycle. Governments should organize the seminar, where tell to people, how protect our society, and ecosystem from pollution, and hire the team which look after if this all system.
In conclusion, I believe that law are need to make people recycle more of their waste, because they have the fear of law and fine Therefore, the environment will be neat and clean in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of legal requirements for recycling. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention fines and public awareness, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For example, the suggestion that people would 'earn money' for recycling is a relevant idea, but it is not clearly linked to the concept of a legal requirement. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or logical explanations of how laws would practically change behavior, rather than just stating that they would make things better.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'one more thing which governments should do' and 'moreover, if the governments do this' are used to link ideas, but the logical flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the 'team' and the 'system' is confusing. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally sufficient to communicate your main points, but it is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use the word 'recycle' and 'waste' without much variation. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'waste thing' instead of 'waste materials' and 'take the care of cleanes' instead of 'ensure cleanliness'. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to environmental policy and waste management, and try to use a wider range of synonyms to avoid repeating the same terms throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('if anyone break the law'), article usage ('the governments law'), and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. For instance, 'like every street and open place look nice no plenty of waste material recycled by people' is grammatically unclear. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs agree with their subjects and that articles are used correctly before nouns.
