Student answer (Band 6.0)
Due to expanding population, domestic waste generation has also rose significantly. Many people believe that this waste should be recycled, but it is not done efficiently. I agree that laws should be enacted by the government to encourage recycling. This essay supports my opinion with relevant examples.
To begin with, significant number of people are careless in recycling their home's wastes as they need to put in efforts and time into it. Many individuals hold the view that government should implement stricter rules and fines for the law-breakers. In addition, government must educate its young generation by imbibing the concepts of recycling in them from a very young age. For example, government can frame the academic coursework which include teaching procedures of recycling, so that the children can understand the benefits and importance of recycling. Furthermore, government can provide monetary subsidies on successful installments of a small bio-gas plants in domestic housings.
On the other hand, instead of only relying on laws, people should voluntarily come forward to help the government. Moreover, NGOs in collaboration with local municipal corporation should start awareness campaigns to educate people about the recycling processes, needs, and benefits . For instance, people should be shown how to segregate different kinds of house wastes such as plastics, kitchen leftovers and others by the government's campaigns. This is a major breakpoint to change people's attitude about the process.
In conclusion, it is the social responsibility of every individual to help the government in recycling the home wastes which is beneficial to the environment and leads to a sustainable ecosystem.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the role of government legislation in recycling. You clearly state your position in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide examples for the legislative approach, the second body paragraph shifts focus toward voluntary action and NGOs, which slightly dilutes the argument regarding the necessity of laws. To improve, ensure that every paragraph directly supports your central thesis. The conclusion is brief and could be more robust by summarizing the main points rather than just stating a general social responsibility. Overall, the task is addressed, but the depth of argumentation could be increased to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand' to guide the reader through your arguments. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. For instance, the frequent use of 'government' at the start of multiple sentences in the second paragraph creates a repetitive structure. Improving the variety of cohesive links and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the flow and coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'domestic waste generation', 'segregate', and 'sustainable ecosystem'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'has also rose' (should be 'has also risen') and 'successful installments of a small bio-gas plants' (should be 'installation of small bio-gas plants'). While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, some phrasing feels slightly unnatural. To achieve a higher score, focus on using collocations more accurately and incorporating a wider range of less common lexical items in a more precise manner.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While your meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'significant number of people' (missing an article: 'a significant number'), 'home's wastes' (should be 'household waste'), and 'frame the academic coursework which include' (should be 'includes'). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article errors. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will significantly improve your accuracy.
