Student answer (Band 5.0)

There are some humans saying that garbage from different houses are not properly recycled thus, the only solution is to be legalized by the governments on how to increase the recycling. Therefore, I completely agree with this view.

Arguably, proper waste disposal has a lot of benefits to our country, First, it gives us the benefits of fresh air clean nature and environment. Second, this will not helping us at the same time we help our mother earth from the garbage that is not properly throw and also we can learn more about how the properly segregation of waste from the biodegradable to non biodegradable waste. and also there is money in the trash especially the plastic cups which can make some things valuable and also other cans which can sell too. lastly, the benefits that we can get while we recycled the waste products and became a law is that we can create more fertilizer for the soil.

Similarly, increasing the recycling by society and to make it legal is a good choice for everyone, for people to be more aware of the surroundings and also to behave properly. Laws are needed to our society now because many individuals now are doing bad interms of throwing garbage everywhere and also doesnt care the laws or the rules and regulation of each persons and houses.

Finally, If we have proper attitudes and knowledge to the waste then our nature or environment will not suffer and no trash everywhere. will be a great impact for us.

In conclusion, People recycling their waste makes society beautiful and at the same time colorful, so for me its better to make it a law for the benefits of all nations and to save our mother earth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of legal requirements for recycling. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention benefits like fertilizer and selling trash, these points are not fully extended or supported with clear examples. The argument remains somewhat superficial, and the connection between the proposed laws and the desired behavioral change is not explored in depth. To improve, focus on providing a more structured argument that explains 'how' and 'why' legislation would effectively change public behavior, rather than simply listing general benefits of recycling.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often weak. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'and also' and 'also'. Transitions between ideas are often abrupt, making the flow of the argument feel disjointed. For example, the transition from discussing waste disposal to 'money in the trash' lacks a clear logical link. Improving the use of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas precisely. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'garbage from different houses are not properly recycled' and 'not helping us at the same time we help our mother earth'. You rely heavily on simple terms like 'bad' and 'things'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise, academic vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'waste management', 'environmental sustainability', and 'mandatory legislation', while paying closer attention to correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'garbage... are not'), sentence fragments, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'this will not helping us'). Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences and misused commas. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using correct verb tenses. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect prepositions will also help improve your accuracy.
