Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While the essay addresses the prompt by discussing government intervention and recycling, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth. The arguments regarding grants and eco-friendly products are presented in a very general way without specific examples or logical expansion. The position is clear, but the lack of development and the failure to reach the minimum length prevent a higher score. To improve, you should expand your paragraphs with more detailed explanations and concrete examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'In addition', 'For instance', 'In epilogue'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. The progression of ideas is not always logical, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between government grants and eco-friendly products feels abrupt. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary cohesion to guide the reader smoothly through the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'waste', 'government', and 'rules' throughout the essay. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'According to my ideology' (which is not the correct context for expressing an opinion) and 'overcome use of e' (which is unclear). The range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental policy and sustainability, and focus on using words in their correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with article usage ('the waste material not much recycled'), subject-verb agreement ('there are some individual think'), and sentence structure. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often faulty, which can occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring proper subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for punctuation errors. Increasing the variety of sentence structures while maintaining accuracy is essential for a higher band score.
