Student answer (Band 4.5)

Through different forms of print and digital media, we come across report that nowadays it is not enough of to the waste recycled from home. Even government should take strict action to recyle more of waste. This has resulted into multiple controversies. After a scrutiny of debates, i partially accede.

My inclination can be bolstered with interesting observations. To begin with, nowadays residential area became industrial area and it can damaged our environment through plastics and also some carbon emissins. Therfore, people face lot of helth issues and suffer from many disease. In addition to these, many people use lot of plastic thier daily life such as plastic containers, polithine bags, and plastic rappers so, people reduse use of plastic products for our environment.

Not only these, sometime people have less knowledge about plastic recycle therefore they can not easily do it and also government can speared some imformation about plastic recyling therefore, people protect our nature.

Consequently, not only government can particiate in this task people can also aware to less use plastic and how to recyle plastic so, it is good for our nature. Apart from this, govermnet should take some strict rulse and people should follow. After that they can deal that type of situation. According to a recent reasearch in this matter, 80% of people used plastic products in thier daily life.

In conclusion, down the lane, government should orgenise some events and they should more abel to protect our environment. It is recommended that, people cooperate with government and use more paper based items rather than use plastics.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding whether laws are needed to increase household recycling, and a partial position is stated in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is limited and often unclear due to expression issues. For instance, the discussion moves abruptly between residential areas becoming industrial, health issues, plastic usage, and lack of knowledge without fully exploring any single point in depth. While the writer touches upon both government intervention and individual responsibility, the support provided is underdeveloped and lacks clear, well-reasoned examples. According to Band 5 descriptors, the task is addressed only partially, and ideas remain somewhat limited and repetitive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organization, including basic paragraph breaks, but there is a lack of clear progression throughout the text. Cohesive devices are frequently misused, repetitive, or inadequate, such as the mechanical repetition of 'Not only these' and 'therefore'. Paragraphing is attempted, but individual paragraphs lack a clear central topic sentence and logical flow. Referencing is sometimes confusing, as seen in abrupt transitions between sentences and ideas, which makes the overall argument harder to follow. These features align closely with the Band 5 descriptors for Coherence and Cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede communication. Examples of non-standard usage include 'report that nowadays it is not enough of to the waste recycled', 'carbon emissins', 'helth issues', 'thier', 'polithine bags', 'rappers', 'reduse', and 'speared'. While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'controversies' and 'scrutiny', widespread spelling errors ('reasearch', 'orgenise', 'abel', 'govermnet') and lexical inaccuracies ('down the lane', 'deal that type of situation') restrict the score to Band 4.0, representing a limited and strained lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The student uses a very limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex or compound sentences frequently contain heavy grammatical errors. Frequent errors include missing articles, incorrect prepositions, tense inconsistencies, and faulty subject-verb agreement, such as 'government should take strict action to recyle more of waste' and 'residential area became industrial area and it can damaged our environment'. Punctuation is also erratic, with run-on sentences and incorrect comma splices. Because errors are frequent and constantly cause difficulty for the reader, the writing sits firmly at Band 4.0.
