Student answer (Band 4.5)
Recycling is the process of reuse of waste products.
The unparalled significance of recycling cannot be refuted because it has close relevance to our lives. Some people opine that it is not enough to recycle waste at domestic level our government must should take legal action. According to my point of viwe it must should taken as a natoinal issue their must should be some laws.
Initially, some individuals think that it is not only a domestic issue it is a national issue. They think government wants create a stricket laws for recyling. If waste products is not recycled they create a envormental polution. For example; if peoples threw their waste in open reather then recycling it make massive poiution and if gorvnment make law that no one can be able throw waste in opne and if anythis done this he would have to pay fine or punishment.
While individuals should took it as a self responsebility to recyle the waste. If people took it as a self responsibily or govervnment make to much stricket laws this issue of waste material will be over in coming time. If it will not controled its will create a uncontrol able situation thats leads to plethora of problems in future.
According to my point of viwe if governoment took legal actions we willl overcome from this problem. Government's legal action play a vital role in the waste recycling process. Due to stricket laws no one wolud be able to threw waste in open they send waste metrials for recycling.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether governments should make recycling a legal requirement. The writer presents a clear position that laws are needed, stating, 'According to my point of viwe it must should taken as a natoinal issue their must should be some laws.' However, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack deep extension, relying on simple reiterations that littering creates pollution and laws will stop it. While all parts of the prompt are touched upon, the development is basic and limited in scope. For these reasons, the response aligns best with Band 5 descriptors, as the position is clear but the ideas remain under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the overall progression of ideas is hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak logical links. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as 'Initially' used to introduce a general viewpoint rather than a sequence of events, and 'While' used incorrectly at the start of the third body paragraph. Referencing is sometimes unclear, for example in sentences like 'If it will not controled its will create a uncontrol able situation thats leads to plethora of problems in future.' Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is faulty, placing the response firmly at Band 4.5, which rounds to Band 5 based on the standard half-band scale.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and frequently repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that strain the reader. Examples include 'unparalled', 'viwe', 'natoinal', 'stricket', 'envormental polution', 'peoples', 'reather', 'poiution', 'gorvnment', 'opne', 'responsebility', and 'metrials'. While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'plethora' and 'significance', persistent inaccuracies in spelling and collocation mean the lexical range is limited and minimally adequate, fitting the Band 4 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures, with frequent errors in basic sentence construction, verb forms, and modal auxiliary usage. Examples of severe structural and agreement errors include 'must should take', 'government wants create', 'If waste products is not recycled', 'no one can be able throw', and 'we willl overcome from this problem.' Complex sentences are attempted but are almost always faulty. The high frequency of errors causes significant difficulty for the reader and distorts meaning at times, corresponding to Band 4.
