Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some individuals argee that not enough waste from homes is recycled and this can be increased when legal actions are done by the governments. I largely agree that legal enforcements are required to make people recycle more of thier waste.
One of the advantages of recycling is to reduce evironmental pollution, which is paramount for a health community. Hoarding too much waste can breed germs. People find it difficult to adhere to instructions including those that are beneficial to their health. Governments need to execute laws with penality in other for people to abide with. Recycling reduces environmental hazards which can endanger their lives to diseases. In other words, laws are needed to guide every member of the society. For instance, a citizen or resident who is aware of the laws attached to recycling will follow it suitly. Consequently, laws help to guide people's actions.
In addition, recycling of waste generates revenue and reduces rate of unemployment. Recycling can be taken as a full time job, which can meet financial needs of the people. It also generate income for producers, by reusing their product and reducing the cost of production. According to the law stated by the government to enforce recycling, tax are also paid to the government from recycling. To illustrate, a manufacturer who recycles used products will reduce the company's expenditure. As a result, recycling can serves as a source for both indiviidual and country.
In conclusion, some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled because it requires the involvement of goverments to excecute laws. I strongly agree because it helps to reduce environmental pollution and increase the nation's revenue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and presents a clear position throughout, agreeing that legal enforcements are needed to increase household recycling. The student introduces two main arguments: reducing environmental pollution and generating revenue while reducing unemployment. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive in places. For instance, the discussion on pollution mentions health benefits and penalties, but the arguments lack deep elaboration or concrete examples beyond general statements. The conclusion accurately summarises the stance taken in the introduction. Because the prompt is addressed with a clear position and supporting arguments, the performance aligns well with Band 6.0 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and faulty. For instance, phrases like 'In other words' and 'To illustrate' are misused or awkwardly integrated, and referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'follow it suitly'. Transitional phrases are present, but their execution lacks the flexibility and natural flow required for higher bands. The progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Overall, the structural organisation is adequate for Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'enforcements', 'expenditure', and 'paramount'. However, there are notable spelling errors ('argee', 'evironmental', 'health community' instead of healthy, 'penality', 'indiviidual', 'goverments') and awkward word choices ('follow it suitly', 'revenues'). These lexical errors occasionally distract the reader, although communication is not impeded. The vocabulary resource is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, matching the criteria for Band 5.5 to 6.0, landing solidly at Band 6.0 due to the mix of functional terms and spelling slips.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'One of the advantages of recycling is to reduce environmental pollution, which is paramount for a health community.' There are, however, several grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('tax are also paid', 'recycling can serves'), preposition errors ('abide with' instead of abide by), and awkward phrasing ('when legal actions are done'). While these errors are noticeable and require the reader to occasionally re-read, they rarely impede overall communication. The command of grammar and punctuation fits comfortably into the Band 5.5 or 6.0 range.
