Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement, containing only 190 words compared to the required 250 words, which significantly impacts Task Achievement. Furthermore, the content struggles to address the prompt in a balanced, academic manner. Instead of exploring the extent to which laws are needed for recycling, the writer makes extreme assertions, such as stating that people who do not recycle are 'not pure citizen' and 'not right to stay on the country.' While the writer touches on government rules, the ideas lack proper development, relying heavily on repetitive statements rather than reasoned arguments. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed, leading to a band score of 4.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The text lacks clear logical organization and progression throughout. The response is written as a single, dense block of text with virtually no appropriate paragraphing. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, resulting in disjointed and repetitive sentences. For instance, transitional phrases are rare, and referencing is faulty, such as repeating 'these peoples' constantly without clear logical links. Although some basic chronological or thematic connections are attempted, the overall arrangement is incoherent and difficult for the reader to follow, corresponding to a band score of 4.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, frequently resorting to words like 'people', 'country', 'clean', and 'environment'. There are numerous word choice and spelling errors, such as 'envirnoment' instead of environment, 'donot' instead of do not, and 'development country' instead of developing country. These errors and the limited range of vocabulary strain the reader and reflect a restricted lexical repertoire. While basic meanings are conveyed, the vocabulary remains inadequate for an academic task, meriting a band score of 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple and frequently faulty sentence structures. There are persistent, major errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('the waste from the home is recycled', 'the country do the development'), incorrect article usage, and frequent punctuation errors. Complex structures are poorly attempted and almost always inaccurate. Because errors are very frequent and frequently obscure the intended meaning, this performance aligns with a band score of 4.0.
