They say that the only way to escalate recycling is for government should take against this problems and make legal rule regulation. I strongly agree with this statement because it is essential that all waste should be recycled.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing whether governments should make recycling a legal requirement, and a clear position in strong agreement is presented. However, the essay falls short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 240 words. This under-length issue directly impacts the development of ideas, leading to a penalty under Task Achievement. While the student attempts to provide reasons and examples, such as mentioning Indian cities, the supporting points remain underdeveloped and somewhat disjointed. The conclusion is also incomplete, stopping abruptly in the middle of a sentence. Consequently, the response aligns best with a Band 5.0, as the task is only partially addressed due to length constraints and limited idea expansion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, showing an attempt at a standard structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, progression is hindered by abrupt transitions and incomplete thoughts, particularly in the unfinished final sentence. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or inappropriately, as seen with phrases like 'Nevertheless' introducing a supporting point rather than a contrast. Referencing is also weak at times, such as 'their the government' instead of 'where the government'. Paragraphing is present, but the overall logical flow is frequently interrupted by grammatical and structural issues. These features place the response at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently revolving around terms like 'waste', 'recycle', 'pollution', and 'government'. There are noticeable word-choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'take against this problems', 'legal rule regulation', 'muncipal should make iegal rule', and 'healtheir life'. Spelling errors also occur, including 'polluation', 'facilties', 'competely', 'muncipal', 'iegal', 'healtheir', 'clean', and 'thsi'. Although the intended meaning can usually be understood, the limited range and frequent inaccuracies constrain the communication, reflecting the characteristics of a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent errors in verb forms, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'people think that not enough of the waste... is recycled' (awkward phrasing), 'government should take against this problems', and 'anyone do not pay attention'. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also problematic, culminating in an unfinished sentence in the conclusion. The high frequency of grammatical errors causes noticeable difficulty for the reader and prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. This performance corresponds to a Band 4.5 descriptor level, rounded to 5.0 in accordance with standard whole/half band conventions.
