Student answer (Band 5.0)

A number of individuals believe that not adequate of the waste frome house is recycled. They also consider the only way to rise recycling is for governments to make it a legal requirement. While there are many arguments behind this view, I believe that laws are needed to make individuals more of their rubbish as it gives mentally pressure to recycling waste.

There are numerous benefits if the government introduce such kinds of laws. One possible benefit is that people will be aware about recycling. To be more precise, by implementing different types of laws, people will try to recycle their wast more quickly. For example, when the government introduce a new low with enough punishment, people are trying to complete their tasks as they can fall into trap. As a result, it is become easy to recycle waste, whereas environment may be saved as households waste can have numerous plastics.

Moreover, it allows them to recycle waste more, because of punishments. If people can't obey the government's rules and regulations, they might pay money or are taken to prisons; that is why people try to respect government's rules. For instance, in Japan, the government of Japan introduced a lot of rules for recycling waste from home. As a consequence, people in Japan are more willingly to obey their government's rules, which brings more awareness.

In conclusion, since increase recycling is for governments to make some legal laws may need to make people recycle more of there waste, which can have significant effects as people may think about punisments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response sits at this band because it addresses the task only partially. Notably, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains 249 words, falling one word short of the 250-word minimum (with 10 words copied from the task prompt not counted). Furthermore, the position is not always clearly sustained, and the ideas presented are somewhat limited and under-developed. For instance, while the writer mentions that laws give 'mentally pressure to recycling waste,' this idea is not fully explored or supported with clear elaboration. To improve, you need to ensure you clearly exceed the minimum word count and extend your main ideas with more detailed explanations and fully developed supporting examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response shows some organisation, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas throughout the essay. While paragraphs are attempted, the internal logical flow is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are sometimes used, but they are often inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent reliance on simple transitional phrases like 'Moreover' and 'In conclusion' without creating a smooth progression between sentences. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making it harder for the reader to follow the argument seamlessly. To move to a higher band, you must ensure that your ideas logically follow one another with clearer referencing and a more varied, accurate use of cohesive devices.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic ideas about recycling and laws. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the text, such as 'frome house,' 'rise recycling,' 'wast,' and 'low' instead of law. These lexical inaccuracies and spelling slips can cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher score, you need to expand your vocabulary range, incorporate less common lexical items accurately, and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms in your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Grammatically, the response uses a very limited range of structures and relies heavily on simple sentence forms. Attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, featuring frequent errors in grammar, articles, and prepositions, such as 'is become easy,' 'environment may be saved as households waste,' and 'people are more willingly.' These frequent errors can cause difficulty and strain for the reader. To improve, you should aim to control a wider variety of complex grammatical structures accurately and reduce basic agreement and verb form errors.
