Student answer (Band 5.0)
Few individulas declare that waste from the houses is not recycled on a big scale. And they think that to encourage this recycling process government should implement laws for this essential need. According to my perspective this is a basic necessity to enhance the resources.
Initially, the procedure of recycling is very advantageous as it help to reduce the pollution that is casued by the household wastes. However, some individuals are not very serious about this and this negligence is causing deadly diseases. Not only for humans but also for the animals and the nature. This has a drastic effect. Recycling benefits in a lot ways. For instance, if the garbage is thrown in the streets it will harm the animals and pollute the atmosphere. On the other hand, if we use the recycling resources we are more able to take advantage from this useless material.
Laws for this procedure are mandatory, for the healthy lifestyle of citizens. Buckets carrying these wastes must be placed outside the houses. People will more able to recycle their wastes. This methodolgy will also convince the citizens to use these resources from the authorities.
As a result, government should pay attention to this vital role to reduce the pollution that is casued, as recycling can be very productive activity in every city. More and more technologies can be used that will be very helpful in producing different items from the wastage of household materials and it cannot be possible without the cooperation of every single individual.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially. While the writer expresses a clear opinion that laws are necessary to enhance recycling resources, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed throughout the essay. For instance, the discussion on how garbage harms animals and causes diseases lacks specific examples and deeper elaboration. Furthermore, the reasoning tends to be repetitive, circling back to pollution without exploring the broader societal or economic implications of mandatory recycling laws. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to fully develop each argument with extended explanations and more robust supporting details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation with distinct paragraphs, but the essay lacks a clear overall progression from one idea to the next. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the frequent use of transition words like 'Initially', 'However', and 'As a result' which do not always logically connect the thoughts. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas within paragraphs feels disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where multiple disconnected points about health, nature, and street litter are lumped together. Improving logical flow and using a wider, more accurate variety of cohesive links would enhance the structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as spelling 'individulas' and 'casued', and using awkward phrasing like 'use the recycling resources' or 'vital role to reduce the pollution'. The range of vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on words like 'recycling', 'waste', and 'pollution' without demonstrating much flexibility. To improve, the writer should incorporate less common lexical items accurately and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer uses a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are numerous grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('waste from the houses is', 'recycling benefits in a lot ways'), missing articles, and awkward prepositional phrases. For example, writing 'According to my perspective' instead of 'In my view' or 'From my perspective', and 'take advantage from' instead of 'take advantage of'. These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a lack of firm control over basic and complex grammatical patterns.
