Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, environment pollution is become an alarming issue because people are not realizing the need proper waste management. Many people are not aware about recycling their household waste. So the government should introduce stricter laws to ensure adequate recycling of waste. I firmly believe that imposing strict regulations and increasing public awareness can help to increase proper waste management at home.
There are several reasons behind the issue. One possible is lack of proper recycling knowledge. People today have knowledge about environment degradation and bad effect of plastic use, but they don't know how to recycle those. For instance, people use plastic bottles with different products they have purchased which are damped in waste bins after use. Besides, some people thing that plastic is not recyclable and have no use further. As a result, they don't separate those for recycling from their household waste. So, increasing awareness through various public campaigns can be a great solution of this problem. So that, people educate about waste recycling and proper waste management which help them to apply it at their home.
Another reason is lack of stricter regulation which encourage them to damp waste without proper management. People don't give effort to recycle waste and sort them for recycling which make the situation more worsen. So the government should introduce laws targeting proper waste recycling and encourage people to follow them. For example, if the government impose fines who damp their waste without sorting such as plastic, wet waste dry waste, it will force people to follow waste management process. A combination of government rules and individuals awareness will help to increase the amount of waste recycling.
In conclusion, although people are not recycling their waste in an adequate amount, the government and social organizations should work together to increase among people for waste management.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support government rules and public awareness as ways to increase household recycling. You address both the need for laws and the role of education, and the examples of sorting plastic and imposing fines are relevant. This gives the response a sound answer to the question. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others. The discussion of awareness explains that people may not know how to recycle, but it does not show in detail how campaigns would change behaviour or why laws are needed alongside them. The conclusion also repeats the general recommendation rather than clarifying how far you believe laws are necessary. Develop the relationship between enforcement and education more explicitly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different causes and solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from lack of knowledge to weak regulation is easy to follow, and examples are placed in the relevant paragraphs. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. Repeated use of “So” to begin sentences, and phrases such as “So that,” make connections feel abrupt rather than fully integrated. Some references are also difficult to track, as in “they don't separate those,” where the reader must infer what “those” refers to. Use a wider range of linking structures and make references explicit. The final paragraph is brief and does not fully draw together the two strands of your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “household waste,” “recycling,” “public campaigns,” “stricter regulation,” and “impose fines,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as separating waste and managing it properly. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision. Examples include “environment pollution,” “bad effect,” “damped in waste bins,” and “increase among people for waste management.” Some forms are also confused, such as “thing” where “think” is intended. Aim to learn common word partnerships for this topic and check that each chosen word expresses the intended meaning. More precise phrasing would make your argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if the government impose fines” and clauses explaining causes and results. This helps you communicate a sequence of ideas, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction remain. For example, “environment pollution is become” needs a correct verb form, while “the government impose” requires agreement; “the need proper waste management” is missing a grammatical link. The sentence “So that, people educate…” is also incomplete and does not clearly express who educates whom. Review basic clause structure and subject–verb agreement, then proofread complex sentences to ensure each has a complete main clause.
