Student answer (Band 5.0)
People these days say the waste produced by their household is not being recycled. Although they say there is only one way to increase the recycling is the government have to make legal action.
In this era, use of plastic and other household material usage has increased dramaticaly. and some of this material can be recycled and some are not. although in some country there are still poor management for waste disposal. in homes there are many types of waste produce on daily basis from plastic to food, and other kinds of wastes and in some countries these garbage collected on daily premises. however some people are unsatisfied due to not recycling it well. this happens due to poor legal action related to recycling of the garbage.
So some people argue that government should take prior actions and make such a important laws to proper recycling the material which will be beneficial for individuals and for our mother earth. Administration should categorised first wastes so people can throw their wastes in proper way and collect by the municiple vehicals. due to this people can easily throw it and it's easy for industries to make recycling more quickly. the time for it get saved and more and more recyled materials sell on the market again for use people again. for ex. In India there are system to collect waste as dry ,wet, solid, liquid, and medical wastes by coloured boxes.
In conclusion, government should focus on more how to do proper waste management, consequently it will help in recyle the material easily.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the general topic and give a relevant example of India’s colour-coded waste collection system. However, the question asks how far laws are needed, and your position is not clearly stated: the opening reports what “some people” say, while the conclusion recommends better waste management without explaining whether legal requirements are essential or merely helpful. Most of the discussion describes waste sorting and collection rather than weighing the role of laws or considering other ways to encourage recycling. Develop a direct opinion and support it with reasons—for example, whether penalties ensure participation, and whether education or convenient collection could also increase recycling. This would make the response address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the example about coloured boxes is placed in a relevant section. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves between plastic use, waste management and dissatisfaction, while the next shifts to laws, sorting, collection and resale without clearly connecting each point. Linking words such as “although,” “however” and “consequently” are used, but some do not express the relationship between the ideas clearly. Use each paragraph for one main point, then explain how it supports your view on legal requirements. Clearer referencing and fewer abrupt transitions would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “waste disposal,” “recycling,” “industries” and “coloured boxes,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “legal action,” “wastes produce,” “municiple vehicals” and “recyled materials sell on the market again.” Spelling errors are also noticeable, including “dramaticaly” and “categorised” in a context where the intended form is unclear. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling. For instance, describe authorities as introducing “mandatory recycling regulations” and materials as being “sold for reuse.” This would make your ideas clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “Although they say there is only one way…” and “due to not recycling it well.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles and verb forms frequently make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “the government have to make legal action,” “some country there are still poor management,” and the fragment beginning “and some of this material.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly after full stops. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas with correctly formed clauses. Check that subjects and verbs agree and that each sentence has a complete main clause.
