Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is widely belive that a large amount of household rubbish is not recyled, and some people argue that making recyling compulsory thriugh legalislation is the most most effective way to address this issue. I firmly agree with that government laws are necessary, although public awarness and proper amenities are also essential.
To begin with, the main reason why law is needed is that people ignore their responsibilites toward environment. they often throw plastic bottles, glass and food waste into rubbish bin without separating these metarial for recyling. Government should introduce legal requirment and impose fine on those people and impoese fine who repeatedly break the law. For example, offical should install cameras in public places, offices, transport and train stations. As a result, legal measure can encourage to develop habits and reduce the environmental damge.
On the other hand, i do not belive that laws alone are sufficient way to solve these problems. some individuals may find it diifcult to recycle their waste if there are not enough recyling bins and collection service in their neighbourhood. Some resident may not understand which material has to be recyled. Additionally, government should need to educate citizen by starting compains in offices, schools and public places. They can take help from social media platofrms, news channels and other platforms to aware public. Therefore, this can not be happend in one day, but these pushback can encourgage people to be a postive citizen.
In conclsion, i believe that law play an cruciale role in increasing household recycling becuase it encourage people to take responsibilities to their work. Neverthless, government should need to euducate about how to deal with different kinds of waster meteria.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that laws are necessary, while also recognising the importance of public awareness and facilities. The response addresses both the case for legal requirements and the limits of relying on laws alone. The examples of fines, recycling bins and education campaigns are relevant, but some points need fuller explanation. For instance, the suggestion to install cameras in public places, offices and stations is not clearly linked to how household recycling would be monitored or improved. The final paragraph restates your view, though its point about educating people could be expressed more fully. To strengthen the response, explain how each proposed measure would work and support at least one point with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting laws, a paragraph explaining why laws are not enough, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a logical route through your position, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “On the other hand” signal the main shifts. However, some connections between ideas are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, the move from fines to cameras is abrupt, and “As a result” does not specify which measure produces the stated outcome. The reference “these pushback” in the next paragraph is also unclear. Use linking expressions selectively, and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “household rubbish,” “recycling bins,” “collection service,” “legal requirement” and “environmental damage,” so the reader can follow the subject. There are also attempts at more formal language, such as “compulsory” and “responsibilities.” However, spelling errors are very noticeable throughout, including “belive,” “recyled,” “legislation” (written as “legalislation”) and “neighbourhood” (written as “neighbourhood” is correct, but other forms such as “platofrms” are not). Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate, for example “aware public” and “positive citizen.” These errors sometimes slow understanding. Check spelling carefully and learn common combinations such as “raise public awareness” and “take responsibility.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a subordinate clause in “if there are not enough recycling bins” and a contrast introduced by “although.” This shows some range, and the main argument is generally understandable. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms recur. For example, “I firmly agree with that government laws are necessary” needs a different clause pattern, while “law play an crucial role” has agreement and article errors. “Government should need to educate” also combines verbs incorrectly. Capitalisation of “they” and “i” is inconsistent, and some sentences contain repeated or awkward structures. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and article use, and proofread each sentence for a clear, complete grammatical pattern.
