Student answer (Band 6.0)
With the world's rising population, we are encountering many challenges. One such challenge is the problem of waste management. The solution we have come up with to deal with this problem is recycling. Even though we have the solution, some people think that it is not being implemented as it should be. People think that making it a legal requirement is the only way to increase recycling. Today we'll discuss to what extent laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste.
Recycling waste is very beneficial for our enviroment if implemented correctly. But the common people are not willing to put in the work needed for this positive change. Hence, making it a legal requirement can be highly beneficial. For people to take recycling seriously, strict laws should be introduced and implemented.
Goverment should place special recycling bins near every house. Then, the government should order every citizen to throw the waste that can be recycled from their homes in the designated recycling bins. On breaking this rule, a small punishment like a fine should be implemented. Moreover, the govenment should also make it mandatory for schools to teach about the benefits of recycling. This would give rise to a more responsible generation.
I think that instead of just punishing the people who break the law, we must also reward the people who live their life in accourdance to the recycling policices. We can do this by sharing the profits the government would generate by recycling waste and converting into useful products. This would encourage more people to adopt these new poilicies.
To conclude, i think that if we implement these policies, the waste recycled from homes can increase significantly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question by supporting legal requirements and proposing practical measures, including designated bins, fines and recycling education in schools. Your position is clear in the body and conclusion, and the suggestions are relevant. However, the extent of your view is not fully explored: the response mainly argues for laws, without considering whether laws alone are sufficient or what role voluntary incentives and public awareness could play. The idea of rewarding compliant households is useful, but “sharing the profits” is not explained in enough detail to show how it would work. Develop the reasoning behind each proposal and include a specific example or consequence to make your support more convincing. The opening also spends space introducing the topic rather than establishing your precise position immediately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, paragraphs proposing legal measures and incentives, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from enforcement to education and then rewards, while linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “To conclude” help signal the structure. At times, however, the connections are mechanical or the progression is not fully developed. For example, the move from fines to school education is understandable, but the relationship between these measures could be explained more explicitly. The final paragraph repeats the view that the policies will increase recycling rather than drawing together the main reasons. A more focused introduction and a conclusion that synthesises enforcement, education and incentives would make the organisation more cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “waste management,” “designated recycling bins,” “punishment,” and “profits.” These choices make the main proposals clear, and some phrases show an attempt to discuss policy rather than recycling only in general terms. However, several word-choice and spelling errors reduce precision, including “enviroment,” “Goverment,” “accourdance,” “policices,” and “poilicies.” Some expressions are also awkward or imprecise: “the common people” sounds unnatural in this context, and “sharing the profits the government would generate” needs clearer wording. Check spelling carefully and choose more natural collocations. More precise terms for household waste, compliance and financial incentives would help you express the ideas with greater control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, and most of the meaning remains clear. For instance, “Even though we have the solution, some people think that it is not being implemented as it should be” shows an effective subordinate clause, while “On breaking this rule, a small punishment … should be implemented” attempts a more complex structure. Some grammatical and punctuation issues remain. In “converting into useful products,” the object of “converting” is unclear; specify that the waste is converted. The opening uses “Today we'll discuss,” which is less suitable for a formal essay, and the lowercase “i” in the conclusion is a punctuation error. Aim for consistently formal sentence construction and proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation.
