Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a relevant general position: recycling is important, and your conclusion says it is “a must.” You also offer practical measures, such as sorting waste and teaching children. However, the question asks specifically how far laws are needed, and this central issue is only touched on in the opening; you do not explain what legal requirements might involve or whether education and facilities could work without them. Much of the response describes environmental harm rather than developing an answer about government laws. Examples such as pollution affecting animals and oceans are relevant, but they remain broad and are not clearly linked to your position. To strengthen the response, state your view on the necessity of laws and support it with a developed example or comparison.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces recycling, describes environmental consequences, suggests sorting and education, and ends with a brief opinion. This gives the reader some sense of direction. However, the ideas are presented as one continuous block, so paragraphing does not show the relationship between the argument, examples, and proposed solutions. Connections are often unclear, and repeated additions such as “also” do not explain how one point follows from another. Some sentences move abruptly from harm to a solution, while the final opinion is not fully connected to the discussion of laws. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and solutions, and use clear linking phrases to show contrast, cause, and result.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “recycling,” “waste,” “oceans,” “plastic,” and “paper,” and you attempt some topic-specific language such as “pollution” and “environment.” However, the range is limited and several words are repeated, while frequent spelling errors make parts difficult to understand—for example, “comunety,” “enviorment,” and “poluting.” Some choices are unclear or imprecise, such as “clean our waste” and “the dirt,” which do not express your intended meaning naturally. Build a reliable set of environmental and policy terms, and check spelling and collocations. More precise wording would help you explain both the effects of waste and how recycling laws could operate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “if there are no laws” and “which affects the fish,” but control of sentence structure is very limited. Many clauses run together without clear punctuation, and errors in agreement and verb forms sometimes obscure meaning: “the forests and trees it will die” and “all animals will shoke or dir.” Articles and sentence boundaries are also frequently missing or inconsistent. Most sentences therefore require the reader to work out how the ideas relate. Practise writing short, complete sentences first, checking that each has a subject and correctly formed verb. Then combine related points using accurate clauses and punctuation, rather than joining many ideas in one sentence.
