Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people believe that not enough of waste from homes is recycled. However, they say that the only way to increase recycling is for goverments to make it a legal requirement for that. In my opinion, it is neccesory to educate people about the pros and cons of the waste affecting the environment and animals therefore i belive that governments should have to take action on wasting from homes.

To starts with, there are a many disavantages of waste that produced by people on daily basis, while ther is not a enough place on the earth to contain that much of waste. On other hand, increasing popullation leads to produce more wastage and it is extriemly difficult for government to manage that all waste. For intance, in many city local public transport their waste in to seas and lakes that will leads to distructive effect on sea creatures and reduce the qality of water.

Secondly , people use plastic in their daily routine that cause environmental distruction beacuase plastic making companies reduces various types of hamful gas that can reduce the air quality. Therefore, people who bought grocceries in plastics need to understand that it would be re usable and recycled, so it would be less effective on environment Moreover, government have to make a rule that platic making companies has to reduce their productes manufacturing so people would learn to manage their use and tryng to recycled it.

To conclude, govenments has to make a rule on limiting every day plastic use and aware society about the damaging effect on nature and animals. Therefore, they learned to reuse or recycle the productes which is harmful for nature.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a relevant position: you argue that people need education and that governments should take action, especially by limiting plastic use. The examples about waste entering seas and lakes and plastic affecting air quality are connected to the topic. However, the response only partially answers the central question of how far laws are needed: it does not clearly explain whether legal requirements are essential, or compare laws with education and other approaches. Several claims are also left underdeveloped, such as how limiting manufacturers’ production would make households recycle more. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement directly and explain how a specific household recycling law would work and why it would be effective.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To starts with,” “Secondly” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of your argument, and the examples generally follow the points they illustrate. However, progression is limited: the first body paragraph focuses on the amount and disposal of waste, while the second shifts to plastic production, without clearly linking either point to whether household recycling should be legally required. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “therefore” in the introduction and the final sentence. Build each paragraph around one clear reason for or against laws, and use linking words only where the relationship between ideas is explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use topic-related vocabulary such as “recycled,” “environment,” “sea creatures” and “air quality,” so the reader can follow the general subject. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, including “local public transport” and “manufacturing.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “transport their waste in to seas” does not clearly identify who is disposing of the waste, and “less effective on environment” is not a natural way to describe reduced environmental harm. Spelling errors such as “goverments,” “neccesory” and “popullation” are also noticeable. Learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “companies has to reduce their productes manufacturing so people would learn” and a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “because.” These attempts show some variety, but complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors can make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Examples include “To starts with,” “there are a many,” “waste that produced,” and “government have to make a rule”; these involve verb forms, articles and subject–verb agreement. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, as in the long sentence beginning “Therefore, people who bought grocceries.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly controlled subordinate clause, then check agreement and articles.
