Student answer (Band 4.5)

Most of the people accept that most of the waste from home is not recycled. They have their opinion they say that their is only one was to recycle waste that is goverments make recycling a legal requirement. Overall in my point of view i think that recycling is a very common need today. We should not waste that thing which are helpfull again after their first use like few example are empty bottels some people burn them we do not do that kind of activity because we can reuse water cans. The other example is shopping bags most of the people throw bags after their first use we also leave that type of habits because shopping bags can use again. Governments should take action on wasting things. In my opinion School should give lectures recycling and add it in our study as a new subject. My father always recycle their things. I has remember that day when the door of our house has been broken and it was cracked into many pieces i was going to through it in carbage but my father stop me and say to me are you mad i ask them what happen he say me we can recyle it and make box from the broken wood of door after that they recycle it and made a very good box and now i use this box. Overall we do not throw that things which help us in future again and recycle them if we throw in garbage goverment can burn it and it is not good for our envioment also so always recyle the things.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You express a general view that recycling matters and give relevant examples, especially reusing shopping bags and turning broken door wood into a box. However, the question asks how far laws are needed, and your response does not clearly explain whether you support making recycling legally compulsory or why laws would be effective. The opening repeats the claim rather than establishing your own position, while the conclusion mainly says people should reuse items and mentions that government may burn rubbish. These points only partly address the central issue, and several ideas remain unclear or insufficiently explained. To strengthen the response, state your position directly and develop reasons for or against legal requirements, such as enforcement, convenience, or public education, with a clear link to your examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a recognisable overall movement from an opening statement to examples and a concluding recommendation, and the personal story gives the response a central illustration. However, ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, so the opening, examples, school proposal, and anecdote run together. Connections between points are often abrupt: “The other example” introduces bags, but the response then shifts to schools and your father without explaining how these support the argument about laws. Linking phrases such as “Overall” are repeated and do not always signal a genuine summary. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons and examples, and conclusion; then use clear references and transitions to show how each point answers the question.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “recycled,” “legal requirement,” “reuse,” and “environment,” and the examples make your meaning partly accessible. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “things,” “recycle,” and “example.” Frequent spelling errors, including “goverments,” “bottels,” “carbage,” and “envioment,” make the writing less clear and reduce accuracy. Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “common need” and “wasting things,” where more exact language would help communicate your argument. Build a topic vocabulary for household waste and policy, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More precise choices would help distinguish recycling, reusing, and reducing waste.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including the account of the broken door, and the reader can generally follow the main events. However, the range is limited, and attempts to join several ideas often produce faulty sentence structures or run-ons. For example, “They have their opinion they say…” needs a clear conjunction or sentence break, while “I has remember” and “my father stop me and say” show problems with verb forms and tense consistency. Agreement and articles are also unreliable, as in “things which are helpfull” and “School should give lectures recycling.” Use shorter, complete sentences while checking subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms, and sentence boundaries; then practise combining ideas accurately with because, although, and which.
