Student answer (Band 4.5)
Nowadays, recycling material is a serious issue in our society. A small number of individuals argue that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. They claim that the only way to increase recycling is for governments to make it a legal requirement. I shall discuss the view and add my opinion before reaching the conclusion.
Recycling material is our responsibilty because those think we use in our daily chores. Government can fine on those people who are not cleaning the area and those people who are not recycling the product. Moreover, do not recycled the product can dangerous for us. it can cause to more diseases.
On the other hand, there are many way to prevent these issues. First of all, governmet can awareess about recylcing product and say some disadvantages about dirty environment. We should give lecture in school about recycle product that who recycle prouct can provide more benefits to our society. Furthemore, people can earn more money to recycle the product. For instance, many thing when people use at home and they throw these items in the dust bin. They can recycle these items and earn money.
From my prespective, We should save the product after use and these items should recycle. In addition, government should information about recycle product to people.
To sum up, Governments can prevent to people for wasting product. Governments should give lecture to children for recycling the product that what ways can clean our area where we live. Public can also participate in this work and spotless our areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You address recycling and mention both enforcement and awareness, but the response only minimally answers the central question of how necessary laws are. The opening says you will give an opinion, yet your position is not clearly stated until “From my perspective,” and even there you mainly recommend saving and recycling products rather than explaining whether laws are needed. The point about fines is relevant, but it is not developed with a clear reason or example; the later suggestions about school lectures and earning money shift towards alternatives without comparing their effectiveness with legal requirements. The response is also below the required 250 words: 231 words, with 27 words copied from the prompt excluded. Develop a direct position and support it with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response has an introduction, body paragraphs, a stated opinion and a conclusion, and transitions such as “On the other hand,” “For instance” and “To sum up” help signal stages. However, the overall progression is not clear because the relationship between legal penalties and the proposed alternatives is not explained. The first body paragraph introduces fines, while the next discusses awareness and financial incentives, but these points are not compared or linked back to whether laws are necessary. Some connections are also unclear, as in “Recycling material is our responsibility because those think we use in our daily chores.” Repetitive references to “product” and “people” make the argument feel list-like. Group related ideas and use clearer references to connect each paragraph to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits precision, although the reader can generally identify the topic. Words and phrases such as “product,” “people,” “recycle” and “give lecture” recur, and several choices are inaccurate or unclear: “recycling material” is less natural than “recycling household waste,” while “spotless our areas” does not express the intended idea naturally. Spelling errors such as “responsibilty,” “governmet,” “recylcing” and “prespective” also reduce control. You do attempt topic-related language, including “legal requirement,” “disadvantages” and “environment,” but these are not developed into a wider range of precise expressions. Build vocabulary around household waste, enforcement and public education, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response relies mainly on short, simple sentences, with limited control of more complex structures. Frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “those think we use in our daily chores” lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “Government can fine on those people” has an incorrect verb pattern. Other examples include “do not recycled the product can dangerous for us,” where the verb form and sentence structure are faulty, and “people can earn more money to recycle the product,” which does not clearly express the intended relationship. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “it can cause to more diseases.” Practise forming complete clauses, using accurate verb patterns and articles, and checking sentence boundaries. Clear, correct simple sentences should come before attempts at longer structures.
