Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You take a position that recycling should be encouraged and connect it with environmental benefits, renewable energy, and new products made from waste. However, the response does not clearly answer the central question of how far laws are needed: it does not explain whether legal requirements should be the main measure, or compare laws with alternatives such as education or better collection services. Several points, including the reference to children and your proposed recycling factory, are difficult to interpret or insufficiently explained. The response is also below the required 250 words: 188 words, with 20 words copied from the prompt excluded. Develop a clear position and support it with specific, relevant examples and explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a basic essay shape, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. These markers show an attempt to organise contrasting points. However, the progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from separating waste to renewable energy without explaining the connection, while the second shifts from sustainability to children’s understanding of waste. Phrases such as “This essay will rely on write the solving-problem” do not establish a clear direction. Build each paragraph around one main idea, explain it in a logical sequence, and use linking words only where the relationship between ideas is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “recycled,” “renewable energy,” “global warming,” and “air pollution,” and you try to express ideas about waste becoming new products. This gives the response some relevant vocabulary, but inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations frequently make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “encrease recyclinh,” “another agile,” “new fabrics,” and “produced new product from agile.” Some choices appear to be intended to mean “increase recycling,” “other materials,” “factories,” and “materials,” respectively. Aim for accurate, familiar expressions before attempting less common vocabulary, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise terms such as “household waste” and “recycling facilities” would help communicate your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “Due to the fact that” and a conditional structure, “if I get a chance.” However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to obscure several ideas. For example, “They thinking that only way … if for governments” lacks a correctly formed verb and a clear clause structure; “it allowes increasing” has an incorrect verb form and construction; and “we are used only renewable energy” does not express the intended tense accurately. Articles and agreement also need attention, as in “this is new product.” Practise building complete subject–verb sentences, then check tense, articles, and agreement. Clearer control of these basics will make your ideas easier to understand.
