Student answer (Band 5.5)

According to some people not enough of the waste from home is recycled. They are right about this, but they are responsible for this. They do not focused on recycling, and constantly spreading the garbage , and do not thinking about the significance of cleanliness. They are continuously spreading the litter in the society and do not thinking about what they are . Rhey don't know, due to them many dangerous diseases are spreading in the society, and many peoples are dying due to these diseases.Excessive use of plastic causes environmental problems, as a result pollution increasing rapidly. It cause many dangerous diseases, including cancer, dangue, and many more.According to them, government is responsible for this that government do not make a legal requirements, but they are also obliged.

Acoording to my opiniont,he government should introduce laws to promote recycling and raise public awareness about cleanliness. Moreover, recycling bins should be installed in different places, and fines should be imposed on anyone who litters the environment so that they do not repeat this behaviour.Futhermore, people should also keep this in mind and make sure that they do not litter the environment. They should try to keep their surroundings clean and avoid the excessive use of plastic.

In conclusion, we should appreciate the natural environment we have been blessed with and take care of it. We should not pollute it, and we must keep our surroundings clean to prevent the spread of dangerous diseases and protect people from becoming ill.We should also take responsibility by ourselves, and the government should take legal measures to address this issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a position that governments should introduce recycling laws, and you mention relevant measures such as installing recycling bins, imposing fines, and raising public awareness. These points address the question, but the response only partially develops the central issue: it does not explain clearly why legal requirements are needed or how they would increase household recycling. Much of the opening and conclusion focuses on litter, cleanliness, and disease rather than comparing the role of laws with individual responsibility. The position also shifts: you first say people are responsible, then argue that government action is needed, without explaining how these responsibilities fit together. Develop one or two reasons with a specific example and state how far you believe laws are necessary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, a paragraph proposing government and individual action, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. However, progression within the opening is difficult to follow because several points repeat the idea that people litter and cause disease. Connectors such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” signal stages, but they do not always show a clear relationship between ideas. References such as “they” and “this” are sometimes unclear, particularly when responsibility shifts between people and government. Organise the argument into a focused paragraph explaining the problem and a separate paragraph showing how laws would help, using clear links between each claim and its support.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycling bins,” “fines,” “environment,” and “excessive use of plastic,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, especially “spreading,” “society,” and “dangerous diseases.” Some word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “spreading the garbage,” “legal requirements” in this context, and “keep this in mind.” Spelling errors, including “Rhey,” “Acoording,” and “dangue,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases for household waste and enforcement, and check spelling carefully. Using a wider set of accurate terms would make the argument clearer and less repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “Excessive use of plastic causes environmental problems, as a result pollution increasing rapidly.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “They do not focused” and “do not thinking,” where the verb forms are incorrect, and “pollution increasing rapidly,” which needs a complete clause. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “It cause many dangerous diseases” and the run-on ending “ill.We should.” Practise forming complete clauses, matching subjects and verbs, and using punctuation to separate sentences. More accurate control of these basics will make your ideas easier to understand.
