Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, home waste meterial has become a widely discussed topic, particularly regarding its impact on environment. While many people believe that no recycling has bad impact on our health, others argue that recycling is just a wasteage of money and time. in my opinion, go vernment have to take serious action on it, and this essay will explore both sides of the issue.
On the one hand, those who support recycling points to several key factors. The main reason is that people think that it is just a wasteage of money but it is important for people health because it cause fungi and diseases like malaria. this happen becouse people keep wasteage in house for many time. for instance, in china many people were dead during last year because of malaria this shows how this affects people life.
On the other hand, there are some strong solutions about this, the main solution is that government should make it a legal requirement to save the population and to aware public about its bad impact on their life. they apply any policy for this or compaign or any advertisement for this on television. and also people have to aware their neighbours about recycling and talk about its advantages.
In conclusion, while recycling has clear benefits, I believe that store waste in house has many drawbacks like it badly affect our health and skin. looking ahead, taking action on this topic will be essential to ensure positive results in the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a general opinion that government action is needed, and your response includes a paragraph about legal requirements and public awareness. However, the task asks how far laws are needed to make people recycle more, while much of your discussion shifts to the health effects of keeping waste at home. The claim that household waste causes malaria, and the example about deaths in China, are not clearly connected to recycling or supported with explanation. Your position is also difficult to follow because the introduction presents opposing views about recycling, but the body does not develop those views consistently. To improve, state directly whether laws are essential or whether incentives and education could also work, then support that position with relevant, explained examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help identify the sections. However, the progression between ideas is often unclear: the first body paragraph begins with support for recycling but then says people consider it a waste of money, before moving to disease. The second paragraph lists laws, policies, campaigns and neighbourly discussion without showing how these ideas relate or which is most effective. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically, and the conclusion introduces storing waste at home rather than resolving the question about legal requirements. Organise each paragraph around one clear point and use linking language to show the relationship between explanation and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “recycling,” “legal requirement,” “policy” and “advantages,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is basic and several inaccurate or repeated expressions make meaning less clear. Examples include “home waste meterial,” “wasteage of money,” “aware public” and “store waste in house.” Spelling errors such as “becouse” and “compaign” also reduce accuracy. Some word choices do not fit the intended meaning: “fungi and diseases like malaria” is an unclear description of the health risks. Build a more precise set of terms for household waste and recycling, and check spelling, word forms and common collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a contrastive opening with “While” and a sentence beginning “The main reason is that…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “government have to take” needs subject–verb agreement, while “people who support recycling points” also has an agreement error. In “it cause fungi and diseases,” the verb form is incorrect, and several sentences begin with lowercase letters after full stops. The sentence “they apply any policy for this” is difficult to interpret because its structure is incomplete. Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then combine ideas with subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
