Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a relevant position by arguing that government rules are needed, and you give related reasons: people may lack awareness of environmental harm, while fines and awareness programmes could encourage recycling. However, the response only partially develops the question of how necessary laws are. It does not clearly weigh laws against other ways of increasing recycling, and the examples about soil, air and water are listed rather than explained. Your conclusion says regulations and education can help, but the extent of your agreement remains vague. The response is also 56 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasoning. To strengthen the answer, state your position precisely and explain one or two examples in more detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has an overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph giving reasons and proposed measures, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of thought reasonably easy to follow. You also use basic linking expressions such as “the primary reason,” “in addition,” and “in conclusion.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, particularly “to explain” repeated within the body paragraph, and the ideas move quickly from environmental effects to fines and then awareness programmes. The opening repeats the claim rather than setting up a clear progression. Organise the body into distinct points, use linking phrases that show the relationship between them, and make references such as “this issue” clearly identify the problem being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “ecosystem,” “soil quality,” “regulations,” “awareness programme,” and “fine.” These choices show an attempt to discuss environmental policy rather than relying only on very general language. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to understand, as in “disbalanced our ecosystem,” “local water drain can be off,” and “clean water.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “government should take over this issue.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for recycling and environmental impacts. More precise wording would help you explain your ideas clearly and avoid repeating “issue” and “government.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, for example, “the primary reason that government should take over this issu becuse people are not too much awareness…” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the longer structures are often difficult to follow. Errors in sentence formation, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation occur throughout: “home waste are recycle,” “people who will not followed this rule,” and “government and individual can mitigated” are examples. Capitalisation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent. These problems can obscure the intended meaning, even though the reader can identify your general argument. Build accuracy first with clear subject–verb sentences, then practise joining them using “because,” “which,” and “if” while checking verb forms and agreement.
